QUOTE(TristanX @ Nov 12 2021, 10:48 AM) Yes, MX500 is the best price/performance. I see, will ask him just to get this particular model then, thank you boss https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H7FnPXWYRn...7rmqgwXLvO/view |

Hi, my wife's laptop which is a Dell Vostro 5481 with an i5 8th gen is using a WD SN520 nvme for her OS drive. Just check the health of the drive using HD Sentinel (not sure whether it is a legit way to check or not) and saw that the health has dropped to 80% ish. Is it okay to continue using it, or should I replace it to a new one ? if I were to replace it, should I get like Transcend MTE220S or any better model that is recommended ? She's only using the laptop for office work, so 256gb is considered enough right ?

QUOTE(TristanX @ Aug 5 2023, 09:46 AM) This is why never ever buy DRAMless crap. SSD wears out faster. Just use and try to avoid writing stuffs on it... Not sure when she first bought the laptop, the ssd was add-on or came with it. She's a postgraduate student, only use the laptop to write paper, journal and some university work using Microsoft Office. Was looking at minimum 256gb since the laptop has another 1tb hdd insideWhat kind of work? 256GB definitely not enough for office work. |
