Recently I got 2 Samsung HDD died on me within 1 month. both is Samsung HD103SJ (it is 10yrs+ HDD).

So no more HDD from now on, I decide to move to SSD for good.

So I just got Adata SX8200 Pro 2TB at RM430 a few days ago before SSD price hike. sweat.gif and RM20 for the PCIE adapter.

I heard alot about Adata swap component to downgrade speed. I didnt care because I am gonna slot into my old sandy bridge PC PCIE 2.0 4x slot. My can mobo support 16x+4x mode or 8x8x4x.
PCIE 2.0 x4 is slower anyway, capped at 2000MB/s.

I think I got "lucky". not so sure I still noob, but that info is according to google.

My 2TB SX8200 Pro comes with

SM2262ENG controller
Samsung DDR4 2666 RAM K4A8G165WC BCTD
Adata rebranded NAND, I google the serial number 60078444. It turns out is a micron NAND. laugh.gif

I think this Drive should serve me well for my old i5-2500K PC. laugh.gif

atm
I have
1. Sata3 250GB Seagate Baracuda SSD (Windows 10 OS drive)
2. Sata3 500GB Crucial MX500
3. SX8200 Pro on my PCIE 4x slot.
4. two more HDD running in this PC.

if you can get rid of sata drives from the system, especially hdds, it will be relatively responsive than a system with them.

since you have quite a number of computers/laptops, you can repurpose and use them for different tasks, so that your future builds can run pci-e-only setups.

It has been my game plan anyway,

run all the HDD down, eventually replace all with SSD. The remaining HDD, one of them is for storage, the other is use as browser cache, download cache/folder & torrent etc I even map my sportify to use that HDD or install utility softwares.

the nvme SSD is also part of the plan in case my old PC give up, I can migrate to new PC and use the actual nvme slot.

My old PC is good enough for most of my computer activity, I gonna be use until break down lol

speaking of budget 1TB SATA SSD.

between Adata SU650, Kingston A400, Silicone Power A55, Kioxia Exceria. (got other option?)

which one is best?

Usage will be mainly for install big file size video games + sometimes download movie.

Speed is not important because capped by sata, would prefer reliability & storage /price.
