The last pic would be an HDMI cable. It's used to connect your HDMI devices like DVD, 360 Elite, PS3, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.

actually the only thing u really need to know the real diff between LCD tv and LCD computers are the bit rates and how many million of colors thy can churn out. dell hv lower 6bits compared to most LCD tv with 8bit. its about 300,000 diff in color visuals. go wiki it. tats why LCD tv can give out better color production. like is said. budget, view space, and how big u going to go and purpose. lets say u got a 40 inch with sucky sound system?? i rather go for an average lcd size with superb sound system. since u can already get 5.1 optical for about 1.5k

Will that be more than enough ? or is there any better options? yes the DELL 24 inch and beyond for LCD monitors or any other brand has the capabilities to go 1080p. but wats the point. its jus the same as 720p unless u sit so close to the monitor, armed with a magnifing glass and compare that with a 720p only would u notice the dif.. heck maybe u wouldnt see anytin tats diff. let me giv u my "real" example.. say i am poor, underbudget to buy any LCD beyond 1k.. so i aimed for a 22" which is about rm800.. why should i go for 24" which can churn out 1080p whn i hv to fork out more thn twice the amount!?!? whn the extra 2" cause visualization shouldnt really be a problem here. the only reason i can see here worth comparing 22 to 24 is the connectivity. u get additional ports like hdmi instead of only dvi and vga. i dunno if the 24" has 8bit or 6bit. didnt really research on it. i rather hv two 22" haha rather thn jus one 24"... another reason is. the huge leap in pricing whn u jus go frm 32" to 40". boils down to pricing and if its worth it paying "tat" additional amount. understand so far? or have i lost u? Well if you ask me to fork out that RM2.1k i better buy LCD TV... which is not far away from that kinda $$$$... LCD TV i can enjoy a lots of things... DVD, Astro, Computer & also next gen consoles... where as LCD Monitor only give you nice pic if you have high resolution Graphics card for computer... then Next gen consoles... 2 only nia... BTW if you don use the LCD in native resolution... you are wasting ur $$$... Cos you can really see the difference with native and non-native display... |

The RM1800 price has been taken away already! It was 2 months ago when they put the price RM1800 for that Monitor!
For current pricing of LCD TV, it is a wise choice to go for them too since onli RM2599 also can get a 32". the time i brought mine those TV was still selling above RM3000++ This post has been edited by 300078: Aug 28 2007, 07:46 PM |

QUOTE(ruztynail @ Aug 28 2007, 02:12 AM) LOL.. i think u greatly missunderstood wat i had to say so far. I see. Thanks for correcting me. I am good for now. I like the idea that u mention 2 of 22" hurm how will that looks like for gaming? Halo 3 multiplayer 2 player each player on one screen ? possible ? Damn then I dont understand why they advertise 1080p Full HD for on monitors now. It's pretty hot (advertisement) here. 40" is too big for me, even if I have the money. I have no room left to put it in my house. Want it or not, still have to choose monitor. sigh.yes the DELL 24 inch and beyond for LCD monitors or any other brand has the capabilities to go 1080p. but wats the point. its jus the same as 720p unless u sit so close to the monitor, armed with a magnifing glass and compare that with a 720p only would u notice the dif.. heck maybe u wouldnt see anytin tats diff. let me giv u my "real" example.. say i am poor, underbudget to buy any LCD beyond 1k.. so i aimed for a 22" which is about rm800.. why should i go for 24" which can churn out 1080p whn i hv to fork out more thn twice the amount!?!? whn the extra 2" cause visualization shouldnt really be a problem here. the only reason i can see here worth comparing 22 to 24 is the connectivity. u get additional ports like hdmi instead of only dvi and vga. i dunno if the 24" has 8bit or 6bit. didnt really research on it. i rather hv two 22" haha rather thn jus one 24"... another reason is. the huge leap in pricing whn u jus go frm 32" to 40". boils down to pricing and if its worth it paying "tat" additional amount. understand so far? or have i lost u? BenQ FP241W Z RM1,899* Lowyat price Input Signals = D-Sub/DVI-D/S-Video/Composite/ component /HDMI Features Exclusive PerfectMotion Technology Full HD Format Support: HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) resolution Full display of two A4-size windows PIP (Picture in Picture) function USB ports*3 ![]() The BenQ FP241W Z is the world's first LCD monitor to incorporate AMA Z dynamic video processing technology. AMA Z heralds a new era for LCD monitors by eliminating ghosting and motion blur around the screen edges-for a clearly superior viewing experience with all types of video content. Furthermore, the FP241W Z's use of HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) means support for video resolutions up to 1080p HD. Now, without setting foot outside your front door, you can enjoy the very latest digital content-like music, movies, photos, and television-without compromises to quality. Moreover, Senseye(tm) technology combined with high contrast ratios not only allows the FP241W Z to display static images with exquisite clarity, but also ensure video playback that will satisfy the most discriminating viewer. The FP241W Z can serve not only as a personal digital entertainment center, but as the centerpiece in your digital lifestyle. The widescreen design lets you display two independent A4-size windows so that you can keep up with your work and delight yourself with video entertainment at the same time. By blurring the distinction between work and play, the FP241W Z gives new meaning to the phrase "enjoying work." And what's more, you can freely adjust the height, horizontal positioning, and orientation of the screen panel. It's also easy to connect webcams and other peripherals via the built-in USB ports so you can add even more fun to your digital life. If you value the convenience and delights or a digital lifestyle, the FP241W Z is a valuable enhancement to that lifestyle. Exclusive AMA Z Technology BenQ's exclusive Advanced Motion Accelerator (AMA) technology accelerates the rotational speed of liquid crystals in the screen panel by increasing the voltage, making it possible to shorten the grey-to-grey response time. This is enough to effectively most ghosting effects in video displayed on LCD monitors. However, even if this response time is reduced to zero, in highly dynamic video, motion blur around screen edges will still occur. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) HDMI not only enables 5Gbps data transfers, but eliminates the need for signal conversions, ensuring the best quality video. In addition, unlike other high-performance displays, the FP241W Z uses only a single HDMI cable, which carries the best quality video signals. The result is less clutter and much easier instanllation. A Great View 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) resolution PIP (Picture in Picture) function Exclusive Senseye(tm) technology and a 1000:1 contrast ratio ensure that the FP241W Z delivers vibrant color and exquisitely rendered details. http://www.benq.com.my/products/LCD/?produ...=specifications This post has been edited by g5sim: Aug 29 2007, 10:45 AM |

QUOTE(300078 @ Aug 29 2007, 01:42 AM) Derred There are BenQs here in the US. US is too big to cover by shops; they do have big boxes like Wal-Mart, Best Buy etc but if we are talking about the US's "lowyat", then it either newegg, tigerdirect etc.BenQ currently do develop some awesome Monitor! But for ur case i dunno u US there got BenQ stuff for sale or not? Even in Malaysia not all shop are selling BenQ Monitor! Even if u get a monitor from BenQ do u get the support or service? Best Buy don't carry everything and sometimes their warranty is not covered by them, they will ask to contact manufacturer directly. I exp once with my printer and it sucks. Newegg however is impressive; they shipped in 2 days even with the cheapest shipping and if the item is dead out of the box, they will ship a brand new one. Back to the topic, I can see how famous is BenQ (monitor) and some good reviews about it. I wonder why ViewSonic is not as impressive as BenQ. |
