then i put my celcom sim(must 3g sim?)
then connect to laptop as modem
i apply the celcom broadband,i.e the 1 day rm8
then can connect?

my friend using his 838 pro as modem in his apartment. Really fast. Faster than my streamyx @ 512 Kbps

i dunno if anyone had faced this before... i tried to sync pdf files to my 838pro. previously when i used WM5 it can automatically tag the files and make it readable at my screen. after upgrade my ROM to WM6 it cannot automatically tag my pdf anymore. i have to zoom in and out to read the files. all distorted. any solutions to this?

what software r u using to read the pdf files? Try Pocket Xpdf. regarding the tagging issue, i'm not sure what may have caused it.

I am using the Adobe Reader LE 2.00. Not working properly i supposed.

The ROM i used was cooked by bernardryan. it came together in his ROM. Anyone using the same ROM? Maybe can share a little bit what is happening here.

Ooo... Adobe LE is the worst man... Use either Adobe Reader 2.0 or Pocket Xpdf. These are the best. I'm personally using Pocket Xpdf

Errr... not sure what to say lah. I just clicked on the cab file and installed it on the device. Then wait a while, maybe about 10-20 seconds. Then the rlToday icons start appearing on the Today screen. But it's kinda laggy (YMMV), so moving on with other stuff may be the best best...



...on a side note. Switched from Hotlink to Maxis post-paid on Saturday, and finally got the 3G sim card. I signed up for the Extra Bytes (10 bucks for 5mb) option and happily tried downloading PocketUFO. 3G was faaaast but... stupid thing was, I accidentally downloaded the .exe version of the installer, so can't install it directly...

...and after some miscellaneous surfing over the weekend, I had an even nicer surprise this morning. Maxis sent me an SMS notification that my account is now standing at RM139 outta a total of RM150 credit limit. Since I've only made like 5 calls since Saturday, I suspect it's the bloody 3G charges...

lol. it's certainty your internet usage via 3g. sign up for a data package if you are fancy with 3g. you do not even need RM150 per month.

impressive. which mobile provider he is using n hows the charge? btw hows the battery consumtion when using it as modem? would it shorten the battery life as the usage is so huge?
