Can afford and want to afford is totally a different thing.

Don't confuse between the two

Paying 3.5k/mth look easy for 1st year.
When 2nd year already start to regret and looking to let go. Then those buying 600k condo, 1 year later see lelong can sell 400k. Don't fall into these trap

Agree. You only mention first n second. Imagine dragging it to 35 years. That's why I paid off mine in 3 years.

And woke up thinking if I can buy another more comfortable property eg. 800k. That's 4k/mth for next 30 years.

Just the thought alone... Is scary. So nope.

It's a lot of saving to pay off.

Just happy it's over. And someone said it very true. When you're berhutang, it's very hard to get your wealth growing.

And now to my next treasure hunt...the crypto world

My journey

Age 22 - fresh graduate with celery RM2,800. YOLO and boughted car with 0% downpayment and monthly instalment RM1,200. Every month makan roti negative cash flow.

Age 27 - by this time celery I think raised to around RM6 or RM7k. Wanted to propose to wife, so boughted an under-con apartment in middle of KL for RM380k. Downpayment 10% funded by a good bonus that year and some EPF withdrawal.

Age 29 - celery increased to 10k++ and car instalment finished. Stupid apartment construction delay super long, still stuck at car park level. Now with covid excuse lagi la delay. Got married already, so don't want to wait anymore and boughted RM800k landed subsale. Downpayment 10% funded by my lucky all in into BTC which quadrapled from RM10k to RM40k, as well as all in into glove shares which tripled from RM30k investment to RM90k. Reno cost about RM130k, partly funded by my savings, the rest funded by daddykasi (thank you dad).

Looking back, my celery is ngam ngam cukup makan saja. Far from ktard RM20k. But huge chunk of my extra funds came from investment income. Although sometimes lose sometime win, that all in into BTC and glove shares have indeed helped me buy my 2nd house.

Oh and also big thank you to my parents.

Pay more down payment so you can bring down the monthly repayment to a more affordable level.
