The vulnerability resides in two misconfigured registry keys for the RPC Endpoint Mapper and DNSCache services that are part of all Windows installations.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcEptMapper
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcEptMapper
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache
Does it affect anything on my old Windows 7 system? I don't want to upgrade it to Windows 10. My new laptop has Win 10, and I still like to use Windows 7 once in a while.
