It is just the 12 not sure about the 13 yet... considered yourself lucky as many here are below 90% already myself included  tongue.gif

What a bummer. I know friends who own a XS and 11 with over 500 charge cycles and only at 85%

But is ok, the design is the sweetest afterall...  rclxm9.gif  nod.gif

Yeap too early to tell if the 13 share the same battery issue, hopefully not…sweat.gif will know in the next couple of months..

if you do a battery replacement at switch for example, how long is the procedure? is it done in a day or do you have to leave your phone for a couple of days?
*
For iPhone 12 lineups now takes only 2-3 hours..:they recommend you to drop your phone before lunch hour though, so you can pick up after lunch…my friend did everything in 1 hour, so I would say 1-3 hours..

nope, normal phone case.... hahaa i was thinking because iphone 12 is steel, so it easily generate heat, and the phone case might trapped heat and harming the battery (?)
*
Well, iPhone 13’s also share the same material but so far no one reported similar issue…could be too early idk..

Up 13 battery is definitely better by miles…just not sure about the battery health coz it’s still new, only 2 months since the launch so can’t tell about battery health yet..

Hi all, i itchy itchy went and check my iPhone 12 Pro battery health this morning and it says 88%! Just barely over a year of purchase, the battery health dropped so much. Should I change the battery? And where can I do so? Any idea how much would it cost?
*
Don’t recommend you changing it, it will drop again super fast anyways so rather just save the money until it drop below 80 or 70% then only change it, I reckon around 350-399 to change the battery…

Mine dropped to 82% after nine months till now. I have contacted the tech support for my battery health issue, they say if change now need to pay yourself and they wont recommend to change, so they will only run some diagnose and suggest how to optimise it. BTW the tech support got hint me numerous times about getting it to fall below 79% so they can arrange a schedule to get the battery replace for free (since I am still under warranty till April).
*
Well, if you can drop 79% within the next 3’months then they will do free replacement for you, what’s tricky is it stop at 80% before your warranty ends then it might backfire and end up abusing it for nothing sweat.gif

that's why the tech support only hinting me and since I still have three months left, just continue monitor the capacity. drop to 79 within warranty period, go change new for free, if exceeded warranty period. just change phone or battery using own money. if die die maintain 80, i will still need to do something what.
*
Let it stream 24/7 for few days, confirm drop laugh.gif

What should I do if I want to send my phone for battery replacement? I don't have any other spare phone, and all my data is inside; I cannot clear everything before handing it over to them, and again, my data may be compromised when my phone is not with me. laugh.gif Man, I'm so stressed over this. laugh.gif

Is there anywhere I can see them doing it in front of me? tongue.gif
*
hey sis, if you do it via AASP like machines or Switch, they can complete the battery replacement process in about 2 to 3 hours (also depends on luck if they are busy), so try on a non PH weekday if can...if can be done within few hours then you don't need a spare phone... but when comes to data, they require you to wipe off the phone before handing over to them (their policy), or maybe they will do it in front of you.. so you need to back up your phone and restore it back later..

they won't do it in front of you though, it will be behind the counter.. even third party repair shop won't do it in front of you, it'll be near the counter which is out of your vision..

I really don't want to wipe off the date because restore gonna take time. cry.gif
I guess I have to put this on hold..
*
Yea ikr, it’s a hassle when it comes to backing up, alternatively you can pay for one month iCloud storage boost, just to get it done, then cancel it after replacing the battery and restore…..11.90/200gb of storage….or 39.90/2TB…usually I go with the 11.90 coz 200gb is more than enough for my backup…iCloud backup and restore is by far the simplest, you can do it before head to bed and it’ll be ready by next morning.

Sounds like a good idea. This is my first iPhone and gonna be the first time to do backup and restore as well. May I know if use iCloud, everything will be intact? Even the apps settings like logins?
*
yes, the restore process will give you back exactly what you had before you wipe off and back up (including all your settings, and text messages, even call logs etc), maybe 99% as some apps still require you to enter password (I could be wrong tho coz if not mistaken, if you select back up encrypted files, u can even skip the re-entering password stage as well), but whatever it is, you will get back almost the same as before you wipe, it’s very handy and easy, and the best part is, you don’t even need to plug it into any comps or wires, everything is via cloud..

Awesome. I just contacted the Switch near my house and they said if I can send it before noon, I could get it on the same day, latest by evening. However, like you said I will need to wipe off the data.
*
Great! Anyway it’s safer to send in an empty phone to avoid any trouble. Normally I’d wipe the phone twice, as in reset, setup as new phone, then reset again….take me like additional 10 mins…hoping that it erases the back up inside HDD as well, not sure if it works but no harm spending an additional 10 mins wink.gif

QUOTE(Bi-bimbap @ Sep 8 2022, 09:24 PM)
Hi all, need some input/opinion. I got a brand new iphone 12 for my mum from Apple Authorised Reseller store in Lazada during 07.07. After a couple of weeks, she was facing some issues with charging where sometimes although plugged in but it does not charge, must adjust the angle of the cable a bit then only it can resume charging. I have tried with 2 original Apple cables and 4 ugreen cables, it tends to happen more often with the 2 Apple cables and 1 ugreen cable, as for the other 2 ugreen cables it does happen but less frequently.

I've tried to clean the lightning port but no lint/dust inside. Is there any way to fix this? If i bring it to Switch, can this be fixed FOC (since still under warranty)? I couldn't find any quoted price for repairs on their website too. If anyone has faced this issue before, please do share your experience.

Thanks smile.gif
*
sounds like charging port issue, if you tested with other cables and still tbe same then most likely it's manufacturer defect, which is covered under warranty and they will fix it for you at no charge, or a possible replacement of whole unit, depending on the issue. I'd suggest to send it back to any nearby AASP, or even better to the shop you bought it from..

Is it safe to take a used 1 year and 10 months old 12 pro max under celcom. No way to verify if its under EasyPhone or not though. What are the chances of it getting telco locked this far in?
*
ask for receipt of purchase and see if they took easy phone or the regular 24 months contract, if they opted for the normal one then its fine as the phone has been paid off, if easy phone or can't provide receipt then better not proceed.

I already made an appointment to change my battery on the 16th. I am required to back up my phone before sending it in and will use the iCloud method as suggested by dikae, but suddenly something struck my mind; what about my eSIM profile? Will it be restored too? I had an issue when I first got my eSIM from Digi, and I plan to do it again only when I get a new iPhone. laugh.gif I hope I can back up and restore my eSIM profile. Appreciate your advice.
*
can't help you sis, I don't know much about esim stuffs, I believe it should be restored though, or perhaps check with the centers and see what they say?

Yeah, looks like I will need to take such a risk and get ready to rush to Digi Centre if it fails. Maybe I won't have mobile signal for one day. sweat.gif
*
Yea esims are quite tricky, maybe can arrange for batt replacement at the center where there's a Digi nearby?

Yeah, I just checked there is one nearby but restore won't be that fast right? Sorry first time. blush.gif
*
restore via iCloud is actually quite fast if you're on a fast WiFi.. how big are your files? I restore the other day on 500mb isp, took me about an hour+ for 150gb iirc.. or could be faster.. didn't time it but should be around that biggrin.gif

I haven't upgraded to the iCloud plan yet, I guess almost the same size as yours. I guess I cannot restore while I'm at the mall, let's see how it goes. I will update later. biggrin.gif
*
restoring over mobile data will take a long time for 100gb+.. better do it when you're home with a stable WiFi smile.gif
