I’m happy to report that I managed to get the battery changed at Switch Seremban 2. My eSIM is also intact because I got to choose to keep my eSIM before deletion. Phone took a while (30-40 minutes) to restore to get into the main screen, it’s still restoring now as I’m typing here.

However, the experience of changing this battery wasn’t exactly smooth. The young lady who attended to my phone at first refused my battery replacement service because it hasn’t dropped below 80? She said must be at least 79%. Mine was at 81% and she said Apple won’t allow because it still didn’t appear the notice to ask me to get it replaced. I told her my phone has been stuck at 81% for months and in order to drop to 79% I probably need another one year.

Then, I told her I am going for a vacation soon so I need to ensure it’s working well and I don’t need to bring a power bank wherever I go. She reluctantly asked me to run the diagnostic test and said if my phone failed the test then she will proceed with the battery replacement.

While waiting for the test to complete, he asked his another colleague to attend to me instead. Maybe I was really difficult to deal with but I swear I haven’t raised my voice yet. This young guy is superb and he immediately agreed to my request and helped me with everything. Unfortunately, my screen protector was also removed before can send in for fixing. I collected my phone 3 hours later.

they have to remove SP because i believe they use suction cup to pull it open..., with SP, cannot open

and they will apply waterproof seal back if change at AASP

Yeah, I told her why others can change but not me? Mine is no longer under warranty and I’m paying for it. I failed to understand this part.

She knew my phone was out of warranty from the beginning. I told her many times, I’m not claiming any warranty and I will pay for it. I guess she’s just new.

Ya, it does because everything is there but I still have 16.5GB data to be restored and my WhatsApp is part of it. I hope no urgent messages.

Cool! I will do it later. Gonna downgrade back to 50GB plan.

With the price increased? No way plus we have the 12 Pro/ Max which are still as great as ever. Also if Apple are on schedule, next year would be a redesign.     

I really hope it will be a new chassis material for the 15 Pro/ Max. Don't quite like the stainless steel stuff as I have gotten too many effortless scratches all over my phone. I get if it is just at the lightning port but everywhere else? Beats me.

does 12 pro still good phone to use in 2022?

i heard these 12 series really had bad things about their battery life

used to bought used 13 but 1 week later phone already got scratched at back of the phone while already in casing

also tried to look for 13 pro used nowdays but hard to find good set one

i also didnt noticed because sometimes took off the case until theres this minor or slight hairline scratch

really dissapointed since just using it and dont know if its due the glossy shiny thing model of the phone

My iPhone 12 Pro Max battery life is 83% - it has been that way for the past 6 months. I’m waiting for iPhone 15 to replace it, so was thinking to replace the iP12 battery to extend the life.

Anybody did this already? How much is the cost?

Thanks! But do you really need to wipe the phone before they attempt the battery exchange? Of after the battery exchange will make the storage to lose everything?

Thanks! Just tried to call a local service centre (Switch) - they offered RM380 and will complete the work within 2-3 hours if I send in by 12pm. Will send tomorrow.
