Hi all,
Summary of the issue: I have installed Invisible Grille at my balcony at my serviced apartment After months of dispute with Management, they concluded that I need to remove my Invisible Grille due to impacting building structure/warranty blah blah blah.. The main reason for the installation of this is for the safety of my 4 years old toddler
They issued a letter for me today and asked me to visit mgmt office to take the letter from Developer.
What can I do for this scenario? Is there a law that say I cannot install invisible grille at my own balcony for safety?
Advice needed..

If you want to do so wait after JMB or MC is formed should be more lax after that.

It is my first time, dont have much experience on this.. because we have a small toddler, so first thing in mind is to put the invisible grille.. just to be safe...never expecting such issue to happen..

usually at your stage, u cant build anything that will change the appearance such as a grill above your balcony wall. u have 4 years old. Is there no inner door lock before going into the balcony? U can;t win with having 4 years old as an excuse. U need to think outside the box and use something like this. Or other things to lock your balcony door. https://shopee.com.my/Dsaren-Children-Secur...wsaApT6EALw_wcBEspecially when u are the first. U will set a precedence for all other future owners when doing the renovation. They will start using u as a reference, why u can build and others can't. Then u have other owners who will argue that the grill looks ugly and want other types. Or some owners will argue u are devaluing the property by destroying the condo appearance as a whole. I tell you, this is just the start of your headache. U can try to just forgo your deposit if u die die want to keep that grill, i have seen such a case before. U are the first and last to do that. Or worst case they take action against u. This post has been edited by kopiride: Nov 17 2020, 02:43 PM

Maybe can apply acrylic barrier instead. Then temporarily dismantle and keep until future date when more lax then reinstall

Take the letter but don't sign anything. Then only plan what to do based on the contents of the letter

Getting Started

|
`Normally for high rise property, there will be a set of house rules on what can and cant be done. For installation of grilles, normally developer has already set what type of grille can be installed. You can actually get the design from them.

invisible grilles should be allowed due to safety reasons for kids, pets etc..
in our condo, first the developer said cannot but after determining that the grilles can be easily cut in case of a fire they relented as they initially say oh the firemen wll be unable to access the unit in case of a fire...in any case the grilles are almost invisible so there is absolutely no reason why the developer should reject it..it does not alter the facade in any way..
anyway invisible grills are found all over the KV and in Singapore in high rise so its not like its a "new thing" to hit the market..
