Would u recommend the Little Dot MK range of amps to power the DT990? or Ibasso D2+ Boa?
*
i'm using little dot mkIV to power my dt880 /600. if you like the warmness of tubes, you can consider a LD mk iii or LD mk iv and you're probably set (amp wise) for quite some time.

After burn in bro...will the sound change a lot?
I tested the demo which is not burned in...and i like the bass a lot...
will the burn in mellow down the bass?
*
the sound does not change all that much after the first 10-20hours. i don't find the bass mellowing down, but rather getting more layered and textured after burning in. I'm now at 850hours and its a long way to go to get to 1k hours.

u usually you burn in by playing it 24 hours ?
*
ya, that's what i did. the longest i went was 24hrs x 5 days. but because of my work, i'm mostly away from the T1 rig, so all that i can do now is to burn in 24hrs x 2days over the weekends.

thanks man!
that'll be my next purchase!!!!

or maybe the T5p...now i m in dilemma!
*
T1 will reward you if you have an amp that really has got enough power to drive it. otherwise, the T5p is easier to drive and its SQ tuning is also slightly different.

Bro
Bro.
How would u rate the T1 vs the DT880...
Can the 880 compare even a little bit with the T1?
*
i did the following review back in Feb '11 and my setup has changed since then, but my conclusions still stand.

xxx
My setup is as follows:
foobar -> d10 -> Ld mkIV (stock power tubes + mullard m8100 drivers) -> T1 / DT880 /600
The Audio Hub's Custom RCA - Mini (double espresso) cable between D10 & LD
The Audio Hub's Custom power cord (Apollo) on the LD
AC power Enacom tweaked by PcWorks
Line Enacom

its been 2months since i got my T1 and have been burning it in more or less ever since. To be sort of fair to the DT880 i left it to 'warm up' with the LD amp for 12hrs today before comparing these 2 cans.

In comparison, the DT880 is brighter and sounds more analytical. The T1 has smoother treble and i feel that its on the warm side of neutral. The treble on the DT880 is very detailed and airy, but T1's treble is still is more resolving than the DT880's and is far more detailed. The T1's treble is also softer (less bright) than the DT880's but still every much as sparkily as DT880's, if not more.

As for the midrange, i fell in love the DT880's when i was first comparing it against the HD650/HD600/D2000/SRH840 and some others. the fullness and transparency of the midrange with my only complaint that it just lacks that touch of warmth to have everything fall in place. the mids is where the T1 shines through for me, it is slightly warmer but adds details and resolving power. it might not be as accurate sounding as the DT880 but i love my warm mids.

The bass on both is very similar in terms of texture and layering but the bass on the T1 just has more impact and thus more authoritative sounding. I think there has always been the misconception that the DT880 is a very bass-shy can but i find that the bass is always there in the DT880 when called for. it does not make a violin sound like a cello but when linkin park is pumping through the drivers, the bass is definitely there.

The soundstage on the T1 is definitely wider, deeper and more accurate than the DT880, but this doesn't not mean that the DT880's staging is poor, just that the T1 does everything so much better than the DT880.

i remember when i first heard the T1, it reminds me very much of the DT880 but it isn't simply just an improved version of the DT880 /600. think of the T1 as a DT800 /600 on steroids. if you like your DT880 but you want smoother treble, warmer mids and (slightly) more bass impact, while improving the soundstaging, the resolving power / details and transparency, look for a T1.

tried out the DT1350 1-2months ago when i was at jaben. Its signature is inline with the other Telsa series, sounds like a baby brother of the T1 to me.

I'm waiting for Jaben MY to organize a can-jam. then i'll take leave and bring my whole desktop rig from SG to where-ever the meet is. beyers with tubes are a match made in heaven (if you like lush mids, while still retaining the bass 'thump' and treble extension).

where are you located? if you're in JB, we can hook up or if you're in KL, i will pass you the contact of my friend in Cheras.

the big tube amp is good for power hungry cans, 300 ohms and up. i'm using it with my T1 and i know its powerful enough to drive LCD2 and HE6.

the TTD is good for IEMs and 300ohms and below, i'm using it with my Mg6Pro currently.

so it depends what you want to drive, and better still that you've already got a DAC, because the TTD's DAC is just average, i find it a much better amp than DAC.

since you already have the DT1350 for portable use, i'd say to go for the T1, unless you like/require closed cans like the T5p, and skip the DTxx0 series entirely.

this depends a lot on yourself, i find the HD6xx fatiguing and even worse with the cable upgrade. each to his own poison.

Hi guys...
I have tried Senn headphone, AT headphone and Alessandro MS1..
What is the sound signature of Beyer compare with those what i have tested so far??
*
SQ of beyers are somewhere inbetween Senns and AT & the ms1.

Senn - Beyer - AT & Aless

Senns are laid back, darker in comparison to the Beyer, while the AT (excluding the woodies) and Aless are generally brighter, more aggressive and more forward sounding compared to the Beyers.

pair the DT880 with an aggressive amp and you end up sounding somewhat like the ATs while if you pair the DT880 with a warmer amp, you get close to what the Senns sound like.

Haha...Hmm...what is the different for the Dt880 and Dt880 pro and DT990?
*
there is also a slight tuning difference between the DT880 pro and the DT880 premium. dt880 premium has smoother treble compared to the dt880 pro, which is slightly brighter. i think the pro also comes with coiled cables and the premium is with straight cables.

For portable ones, the RSAs comes to mind, like predator, mustang.

Desktop ones i'm not too familiar.
