audio technica amps usually is suitable for audiotechnica ear/head phones. though, best if you audition first

i use tube amps and copper ICs to tune the brightness of beyers down. hehehe
if you look around, you don't really need a big 5k amp to drive a 5k headphone. the schiit LYR which retails at less than SGD1K (RM2.5K) is made to drive LCD-2 and HE5/6. the DACport drives 600ohms beyers quite well too.

basically i think if you already know what kind of sound signature you are looking for already, its easier/cheaper in the long run to upgrade your cans as high as you can and from there slowly build your rig around the pair of cans. if you're still searching for your preferred signature, then enjoy your journey!

Sometimes the TMA-1 sounds too dark for my liking. But I still like it so much. Wonder if the DT770 has the bass of TMA-1 but with more clarity?

hehehe once you've experience the DT880/600 on a tube amp, its hard to look back.

there's only 2 ways forward after the dt880/600 for you:
1. up to the current flagships - lcd2, HD800 or T1.
2. join akabane's woody club but you won't get this kind of dt880 clarity

me neither. can't imagine myself wearing a full size cans outdoors in our hot and humid weather.

but i've seen some edn8s on the streets of SG.

anyway listening to every single detail in every song is rather boring,

just enjoy what u listen and what u have

I see, so it's not fatiguing? The review said the bass boost actually shaked the DT770 cup lol. Btw, the sibilance of the DT880 is because that it's not burned-in properly yet or it's the characteristic of the DT880?

Hello to all sifu. Im new user of DT 770 pro 80 ohm.
Currently pairing it with my sound card ( Asus Essense STX)

But I had problem with this combo. The bass is crackling when the volume is more than 45% with High Gain(+12db 64-300 ohm).
It is like "bap bap bap....". Is it possible that it is lack of power? Sorry not very familiar with audio gears.
