Why you get a 250ohm headphone for portable ? xD
*
you'd be surprise that the dt770 pro 250 ohm is pretty easy to be driven .. tho the mids are quite recessed if not driven enough

It's actually not bad.
Cause I'll be looking to upgrade my amp soon. (not sure when)
Most probably Edge, I'm yet to try govibe magnum and pico biggrin.gif

edge is good.. but if you have extra to spend .. try out linearossa k3 .its the best for DT770 pro @ jaben which i tried out so far ... tho its too coloured and musical for my liking ,but i guess you might like it (because i like flat response)

A1 eh.. if there's a chance i'll let you try the DT770 pro 250 on it
you will wish that your ears have arms to pull the sound back in place because of the over exaggerated soundstage tongue.gif (ms1000 is like a football field, then this is like 5 or more football field) but aside from that everything else is superbly balanced

Hmmm... Traveling... Box is ok but you can opt for a more powerful ones like voyager, martini...
If you travel (walking a lot) a good advice is you pick a good IEM, more portability...

i have one 8-years old dt250/80 and it sounds awesome

i just recabled it with my favorite cable, now the mid is still smooth with much more details in the music, bass is more defined, not humming, and not boomy at all. roll off on the treble is almost gone!!

damn this headphone is very sensitive to recable..which is a good thing!! tongue.gif

ps: i use this headphone hooked up to my beloved iqube and CA dacmagic smile.gif

Just listened to a brand new set of TI flagship partner with Rudistor RPX-33 last night.
Found that the high frequency is very detailed and airy, almost like listening to the treble of my previously owned Focal 1027Be speakers.
The mid is just nice, without the warmness of ESW-9 that I'm used to or the forwardness of SE535.
The bass could be better though as on some tracks I wish there was a tone control knob on the Rudi for me to turn up.
Soundstaging is good, but not overly wide. The instrument separation can be pint-pointed easily.
Bad news is on poorly recorded sources, that top-end can very harsh and fatiguing.
I gave up after less than half an hour.
Maybe a good quality tube amplifier would be a better match to tone down the high end and up the low end.

For the time being, I'm just glad that I don't have the money to buy it and I'll stick with the tried and tested DT880.
