Hi hi, may i know what was your initial scheduled delivery date? Which date to which date?
*
Hi, I ordered from LazMall’s Apple Store instead of Apple Online - the delivery date was far too long for me, so I cancelled and order from LazMall instead. It’s a same day delivery service, but need to place order before 12.30pm.

Just received my customized macbook pro m1. Anyone knows if timemachine will restore a complete backup from my macbook pro 16”?
*
Should not be a problem.

64bit apps will be functional via Rosetta 2.

But if you can’t load certain apps, just buy 3 more Macs 🤪

Actually one of the biggest feat of this M1 Macbooks are the temperature.

You know those Intel chips gets real hot when doing casual browsing / streaming, and when you place them on your laps, those are 'lap burners' - while this doesn't feel warm at all.

Now this is a proper 'laptop'.

Thank you so much. Yes I did several research and found the M1 is better than Intel and upgrading to 16GB memory is waste of money because more or less it’s the same based on several stress  or memory test done on YouTube. I’m clear now. Thank you.

For most users, 8GB unified memory is sufficient. 16GB is fine, if you have the additional budget and plan to have an ease of mind without worrying about bottlenecks.

Now you can buy your new M1 Macbook with ease.

i am thinking about either getting MBP or MBA with 16gb & 512gb..may i have your kind opinions please?

dilemma habis ni..

Really depends on your usage, for most cases - the Air will do just fine.

This time the Pro range is just 'entry' level Pro with 2 ports, the higher Pro variants has 4 ports - thats what distinguish the Pro from the Air previously. Now it's just the matter of touchbar, shape, 1 extra core and probably some speaker / mic enhancement. Very minor differences.

Ok few months in i gotta share my experience with my 16 GB 512GB SSD M1 Macbook Pro

PROs: Does everything well, super quick, so fast that sometimes my FCPX will crash lol i don't know why (i'm not even editing 4k 10 bit videos, only 1080p 8bit videos). Anyways performance is really great, no complain for general task.

Bad Experience: I don't know why, but the bluetooth (with non-Apple device) seems to be lacklustre and I am having serious headache using it with my Sony WH 1000x m3 headset and Logitech MX Master 3 mouse (both wireless device).
Headset: Sometimes there will be a delay in audio, and this is apparent when I'm editing on FCPX, my visual and audio does not tally, and it all gets fixed once I plug in the wire.
Likewise with my mouse: Even with the provided mouse dongle attached, the mouse will sometimes stutter (not sure if this is the right word) and delay at times.

Overall the bluetooth connectivity experience is really frustrating, to the point I just have to plug in the wire and use these expensive bluetooth devices wired to solve those issues.

Not sure if anyone faces the same issue I did, would be helpful to see if I miss out anything. Big Sur is already updated to version 11.2
*
I was facing a similar issue as you, not with my MX Master 3, but with my XM4s - so I switched to AirPods Max and see if there's any difference - surprisingly it still does but it's not as frequent. I suspect that there's some issue with the Bluetooth on BigSur - never had this issue with the previous OS.

For non-Apple headphones, best to use the 3.5mm jack since it's FREE - and it sounds better plugged in too.

Does anyone had experienced on bad camera quality? Im having this issue. I did compare to my wife MBA 2011, hers one far much better.

Hate to burst your bubble but the only thing that irks me about Apple is their refusal to upgrade the webcam - it has been unchanged for many years. It's year 2021 and we're still stuck with a 720p webcam. puke.gif

Sounds like you all are very happy with your M1 Macbook Pro?
*
Pretty sure most of us are, despite YouTubers are recommending to hold out for the M1X (rumored) or M2 etc - it's really a good device and in fact I couldn't be any happier taking the Mac around and using it on the go because it doesn't heat up as often as most computers. tongue.gif

It is charging. No issue with the charging. Just that I worry it might damage the battery only

Check the recommended PD wattage for your Macbook.

I doubt it will damage the battery, but if its under the recommended wattage as under wattage will not have sufficient power to drive the components - but I doubt it for the M1 Macbook Pro because it’s relatively low-powered vs the 16 inch as you have alot of components to power such as the i7/i9 chip (power hogs) and the GPU.

Speaking from experience as I previously used a 90w PD cable from my monitor to drive my 16 inch MBP i9, thou default cable is 96w. The power is okay but sometimes you can see it will struggle a bit.

What is the reason you guys got the MBP instead of MPA?

I'm currently using MBP provided by company. I wanna buy one myself, I cant decide between MBA or MBP. MBA seems good enough already.

Funny fact, I’m a fan of the touchbar - that alone is a deciding factor any time of the day.

Hi Guys..Goin to get my MBP soon time ...Have some questions here to ask you guys as it's my first time to use MAc OS~

1. Is it good to get the PD from usb c Monitor to charge up the MBP and display on the same time?
2. If above method is good to go, do you guys can recommend Any 2k or 4k monitor around budget 2k-3k wit hthe USB C PD option?
3. I saw some of you guys here mentioned that we are actually could buy the MBP with student price even tho we are not student anymore with no verification from buying at APPLE website?
4. Is it actually practical to purchase Apple Care plan? As in we actually will make use of it? We can just bring in to Switch, Machine and etc Apple authorized shop for repairing if "Touch Wood" anything rosak?

Many thanks in advanced!

I believe that the current MBP 13’ is using a 60w charger, so any monitor that delivers above 60w should be fine.

Depending on your work, some LG and Dell monitors are 4K IPS panels with 60/90w PD, can use your Mac in clamshell mode.

As for the Education discount, its totally up to you - based on your conscience. No right or wrong, but no they wont need to check / background screen. Previously they do on random basis but now barely.
