QUOTE(victorr @ Mar 27 2021, 11:11 PM) Hi guys. I'm using my Oppo 65W USB C charger to charge my macbook at home. Since I leave my Macbook charger in the office. Will it damage the battery? Did the charger spec state anything about USB PD? If not, it might not charge your Macbook.

Do be wary that, Rosetta 2 apps might have memory leak (it could be due to the app itself). I'm using Azure Data Studio which runs via Rosetta 2. After a few sleeps, the app performance is really bad, even after restarting the app. Usually after rebooting PC, then performance is back to normal.
So take note of that.

QUOTE(victorr @ Apr 26 2021, 02:15 PM) What is the reason you guys got the MBP instead of MPA? I'm currently using MBP provided by company. I wanna buy one myself, I cant decide between MBA or MBP. MBA seems good enough already. 1) Less flex when you rest your palms on it. 2) Bigger battery. 3) Not deal breaker, but customising touchbar to specific app is kinda fun. I wished more could be done.

According to this https://isapplesiliconready.com/, Office 365 is Apple Silicon ready. But today I see this message. Those rely heavily on Office applications, take note.

QUOTE(jack2 @ Jun 3 2021, 11:08 AM) Dont ever buy Apple product. It is not worth at all, My MacBook has battery swollen issue and they did not consider it as safety issue. To replace it, it costs me 34% of the new price/device. Who is going to replace the battery which is not standalone but with top case keyboard. If it's out of warranty, you can try other 3rd party repair shop though.

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Jun 3 2021, 11:42 AM) This implies excel can still run on m1 macbook, but some features are unavailable? Still can use, if you go with Rosetta 2. Anyway, Office suite sucks in Mac. QUOTE(jack2 @ Jun 3 2021, 11:47 AM) i know but I hardly to get any in my location That's unfortunate.

Apple Silicon M1 was a quantum leap for PC processory. M1X probably meh in comparison. With 120Hz display, battery life might get hit in a way, unless the 14" form factor is bigger than current 13" MBP, which might see an increase in battery size.
Anyway, what I'm looking forward to is more ports and more than 1 external display support, natively.
And of course, if Apple could somehow fix the battery drain with USB accessories/monitor plugged in during sleep.

QUOTE(dikae @ Oct 14 2021, 12:47 AM) Iām ok to sacrifice some batt in exchange for 120hz, considering how long lasting the the 13ā, the 14ā should do even better...we will know in the next few days! Yup, much anticipations. 32gb options would be good as I'm constantly exhausted my 16gb.

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Oct 19 2021, 09:16 AM) So I am right afterall. The base model does touch rm10k. USD 1999 is less than RM10k la.
