Yes, I think it is overkill. Unless you plan to watch it on a large 4K TV, the 4K plan I think is overrated.
*
No will only be watching on the 13 inch.

Thanks for the reply. Another problem do you guys happen to know how to solve? In the kopitiam forum when they post video from Facebook why my MacBook can't play it? It will play for 1 second then stop?

urm I bought the AppleCare, apparently it extends the warranty to 3 years from the start date, my previous MacBook Pro 13 mobo issue within 1 year, so do not want to risk it, and there's also perks on it, as it covers beyond the laptop itself, like charger, and battery,
*
Hi, May I ask how did you buy the applecare? I can't find the option to buy it anywhere.

Is that from the battery health in Settings or from third party app? My battery health shows 100% in Settings but around 94% by third party apps. According to what I read they report battery health differently hence the different reports. My MBA is almost 2 years old already but I’m not a heavy user.
*
that's figure I got from Settings. lol so if I am to use a third party app to test it, it will be even lower.
Mine just turn 1 year old last month and I didnt buy the extended warranty. Now thinking should I trade it in with a iPhone b4 it loses too much value???

I think it really depends on how you use your macbook and the way you charge it. Are you always charging it while using? Or do you charge it only when it is really low? Do you charge it to full 100% every time?
*
ya I leave it plug in every time I use it. Sometimes it just stop charging at 80%.

My advice is, try best not to use it while charging if possible.. the reason it stops at 80% is because of the system's optimized charging.. it will slowly charge from there onwards.. I always try not to let the battery drain to low percentage.. usually when it reaches around 40% then I will charge it to 90% only, not 100%. You can also download this app called AlDente, it helps with your battery's charging and discharging.. try exploring it and see if it helps
*
Do you know if I trade in my MBA with battery at 91% will the value be a lot less?

I was recently in the 2nd hand market for MBA M1, looking at prices around 2.9k to 3.3k, which I think wasn't worth it cos Apple was having sale at rm3599. So personally I think it's not worth to trade in for an iPhone currently cos the price will definitely be low. Plus, 91% isn't too bad; it's still great!
*
OK thanks bro, bcs when I google for macbook battery replacement price I see the price for new battery is really high..

It’s definitely still far from needed to be replaced, you can still use it for a long time. As for your battery cycle of 81 only, it’s cos you plug in your charger all the time, hence the cycle count is low. For example, mine is close to a year and half but I have 280 cycles and 89% battery health
*
But from what I read once reach 80% health it is recommended to replace the battery right?

Those are overpriced and doesnt perform well.

If u want smth good, get external Thunderbolt 4 casing and pair with SSD. I got myself an Acasis TB4 external case and paired with Kingston KC3000 SSD. The external drive is faster than the SOC internal memory in Read and Write speed.
