Bosses expect you are available 24/7 because hello, you are at home anyway right?

i find myself spending lesser time with family. I am physically here but glued to my machine due to workload.

in my situation now, the only ppl who are free are the junior levels and operation staffs who are ignorant
even the C-Levels are online and working at this minute, not just the managers

is it the same over there?

Kecian, my wfh so much fun. Wake up late, check email while having breakfast or in a toilet. Reply important email and continue my day playing game unless there is some important meeting that i need to join online.

There should be new SOP to limit working hours at home. Such as all company work to be done through company laptop, which has daily usage time limit. Pass the time limit, and it will auto log off with 5 min warning. System access will be blocked until the next working day.

May sound ridiculous, but if wfh becomes long term norm, surely such a system will be implemented.

True but it's fun to see him scold the person above me. I'm just going to take what ever positives I can get until the situation improves. Long term work like this not good for health. Just hang in there. Most likely we'll see a lot of job hopping once the economy recover and covid19 ends.

No life at all. Her official working hour is 830 to 530 but when wfh, before 8 have 1 meeting with very atas punya orang. Every fucking day.

Then sometimes kerja all the way til 9pm. That day she finish work and need to go out to do her things, the very atas punya orang called for meeting at 9pm. Wow. 24 hours of your life is theirs punya. At least for those orang atas.

Plus muka tebal sial, sudah tau but put a thick face and said (and I overheard) during the meeting, "I know some of you probably don't like me" ayam be like, the way you talk also orang luar will bitch slap you liao. His tone and words is memang asking for penampar one.

And I personally kinda same also. I just joined this kompeni and we work remote/wfh for now (overseas kompeni, might fly to another country when pandemic dies down)

I make a joke on the group channel, got this 1 half senior fella didn't catch the wave then got pissed off since last week until now. Apa2 pun the fella don't reply me or even ask me or tag me. Literally became invi to the fella lololol

I'm not butthurt but it's just annoying the person isn't acknowledging you there. Probably the fella see ayam potentially overtake their position because of how I talk to clients and superiors. Especially that one sentence our direct superior very much agreed with me.

It's just so hard to please everyone or make ppl understand things over the internet.

I dont enjoy wfm.

Initially still super glad but as months go by, I realize its kind of bad to work this way.
I already demotivated to work for the project and without anybody around me, things just get worse.

I thk I feel too confortable wfm, it makes me lazy and too complacent to work.

I had chosen the easy path and had decided to move on.

Same case here, have to work even at night. But i cant complain since daytime, half of the working hours I'll be busy with kids. Had to apologize for missing so many meetings.

Wife have to go to office because her boss complaining productivity down. Government owned company, so have to follow order. Most vendor close, tak faham go to office for what.

Been doing this WFH for my main job.

The good? I could also do my secondary jobs without any hinderance. I get what needs to be done and it gets done fairly quickly because no one interrupts to ask me to solve any issues. The only thing that does distract me is every now and then I browse too much of /k and something from my secondary job calls upon for my attention.

The bad? Bosses are working from home too and they seem to forget some of us live at different time zones. I have 7 meetings per week that I have to sit in including 3 where I am not supposed to be there but have to be there as my immediate boss is on medical leave for a month and I have to take his place.

The other bad is it does feel as if work never ends and that end of work day feels illusionary.

In serious tone, no fk kidding here. Cb betul. 🤦🏻‍♂️

QUOTE(Pugface @ Nov 2 2020, 12:10 AM)
in my situation now, the only ppl who are free are the junior levels and operation staffs who are ignorant
even the C-Levels are online and working at this minute, not just the managers

is it the same over there?
*
First of all, why you hate people that work on junior and operation staffs level?

Of course they on operation side, they have to present at the workplace and focus on company operational side such as dealing with customers, clients etc.

I don't understand why you want to be judgemental to them. During the normal days, you guys that upper from them can shake legs and don't give a damn on what happening to operational side, only know taichi here and there, blame here and there. And some of you don't even know what's happening and pretending to know everything by hearing people said this and that to you without asking personally to the person working on operational or junior level.

The reason why I say this, because people like you are damn ignorant. Before judging other people being ignorant, you need to evaluate yourself during your time at workplace. Yes, I'm working on operational side and I can see some of you behave like this.

And the most funny thing with these people that need to backup operational side sometimes, they can't do their job, they can't even speak properly to customer/client. Even basic thing also cannot do.

worse is those chinaman boss who own the company.

he think he work hard, sacrifice own time energy money, everyone should do the same. but profit all he will take because he's the owner.

It took a while to adjust, but my work life balance is pretty reasonable now. I still sometimes work beyond normal hours, but it's compensated through other times being quiet.

Really happy with WFH so far. Hope can continue.

yes as i always say WFH is sucks, the place where u usually apply comfort become also the place u stress....
and the mood of working is very low

and wasting own resource more example electricity, or some use own pc equipment etc

if your house is small and if your line of duty need speak to customer on phone a lot will have not so much freedom of speak freely and need lower the voice tone.

at office all day can aircond but house if aircond 8 hours very high electricity bill, use fan whole day very hot sometimes..need mix mix fan + aircond, some ppl renting house dont have aircond then wholeday use fan hot

and some job nature in office is more quicker can solve the problem compare to at home, let's say u are busy and need arrange your colleague to help if in office can direct speak but at home need call them and they might lie u say gt a customer on hand tengah busy, for managing level is very hard cause need assign job

Depends report under who

Once report under an architect. Pushy as fuark. Because he alone handle entire MNC company infra, expect everyone work same level/workload as him. Pay probably higher by not much.

Report under CEO. Chill and no kacau as long as get things done. His income probably 10x more than me so wont expect 10x more hardworking/workload than him

WFH is great for me though.. IT Operations here.. don't have to spend hours to commute to work = more time for myself for other activities.. expenses reduced a lot... don't have to put on a fake persona when at work ( this is honestly tiring me the most when I'm at work)

my team and manager is not chinaman boss.. they hardly bother me after my work time ends.. I'm not married yet so I don't have kids.. have my own room so no interruptions either from my family members..

company already provide allowances (travel allowance to pay electric bills, internet bills also claimable)… my desktop at home much faster and better than the company's crappy 2013 MacBook too, so my productivity increased actually when WFH..

when have less work tasks or none at all, can 'mengular' watch utube/movies/game if I wanted to..

gotta give my company credits, they're quite good at handling this pandemic times.. they're the one order all of us to WFH 2 weeks before official MCO starts on March.. provide work SOPs before government even announce their own SOP..

all in all, I have wayyy less stress/depression WFH than when I was before MCO.. but I still hate my job though.. topkek..

work life balance mean you need to compartmentize things

so things wouldnt mix

compartment 1 work, so in it you work kau kau

compartment 2 famili, so you focus famili no think work

like that is good

work ffrom home just blurr up the compartment line, you is famili time n work time , end up non stop famili work affected, at same time non stop work affect famili time, you will bcome restless

non-stop work n same time non-stop famili, no good

You think your boss wants you to have work-life balance meh?

He/she expects you to have good work-life integration.

the company expect you to be glued to the chair, desk and ur eyes on your lappy for the whole office hour + more..

just because of you were allowed to wfh, they too more of your time for meetings and stuff... 8pm meetings. 1030pm meetings...

they expect you to be responsive for any request either watssap or email within 5 mins.

they expect you to reply their messages within 5 min of their spot check...

id rather wio.. seriously, this does not makes any sense at all.

they should expect the same level of response as wio lah...

why everything needs to be attended in fast response...

wadahek...
