Allianz Malaysia Berhad has taken a transparent and effective approach in selecting its automobile repair service partners.

The company was the first insurer to hold an open tender to invite car workshops under the PIAM Approved Repairers Scheme to join its panel of repairers. The tender provided an equal opportunity to all repairers and aims to uplift the performance and service of its panel. A total of 660 applications were received and the company has approved 170 repairers.

“The industry demands good governance and accountability. With this exercise, repairers will be compelled to professionalise. It also allows us to keep to our commitment of ensuring the standard of services provided to our customers,” says Zakri.

Allianz Malaysia is the no 1 general insurer in Malaysia, it is only normal that they will have to take harder measures to curb fraudulent claims by shady workshops.

If not the insurer will be eaten alive by the massive claims by the unethical workshops. If you are sending your cars back to authorized panel workshops, you will be seeing faster repair time. Why would anyone send their cars to non panel anyway? You have something to hide?

I know proton allow it. It’s acceptable if yours is perhaps a hybrid car where the rims have other function..

It’s very simply, you want to join their panel, you adhere to their standards.

The problem here is workshops have been squeezing insurers dry for years now, and when Allianz came up with a new standards for panel workshop, now they cry father cry mother because they cannot squeeze the insurer anymore.

Would rather go to automaker franchise workshop because they change the accident parts.
Outside workshops usually only knock repairs the accident parts.

last time those body repair shops joined in the authorised panel to support the car insurance industry but many were shady and fraudulent causing the insurance companies to make losses. Then those Toyota Honda SC started their body repair segment and that cut massively into their market share. So now even more stringent measures they cry mother cry father lo.

Issue here towtruck mostly own by panel workshop. They not gonna tow ur car to other in event of accident. from my experience. It took me 3 days to arrange another tow truck to pickup my car bring back to body repair sc (accident happen outside of KL). Claim bill is exorbitant but fully satisfied as they change with original parts.

*I had extra tow insurance. cost from bukit kayu hitam to glenmarie around 2K all covered. tow truck coming from penang. local tow truck dun want. unless take to their workshop.

Of course satisfied, my car they changed the whole panel and bumper for one small fender bender. Repair bill came out around 4k
If fixed outside probably about 700 only.

But you must understand that if manufacturer workshop charge back insurance companies that amount who's gonna pay at the end ? It's you.

No matter what the option to pick which workshop must be available.

I think TS never occur car accident and see the repair bill before, if u look at it u sure got shock of how they charge, some even charge the insurance company and did not replace the original parts for them.

Who is they? Which automaker? U mean this happens in Penang? Its stupid...

I kena this once when I changed my windscreen. I insured the windscreen for 1.6k which is the exact amount SC will charge if I do it there. Since that time my insurance was expiring and I don’t have time to file a claim, I went to a panel workshop which could claim with the insurer directly, cashless. That stupid shop replace my windscreen but reusing the rubber seal yet still charge full 1.6k. If I do it in SC the 1.6k is including new rubber seal. Bloody dishonest workshop.

I support the move by insurer to put more control on panel workshop so that those dishonest workshop can go to hell.

Workshop is like hospital same see u got insurance covered, makan to the max
