mana law ??.... well they can't simply cancel your malaysia citizenship,.. without your permission,.. i got friend also got UK citizenship,.. he did that,.. and got back his passport in UK after surrender it to malaysia imigration,... after decades he's still holding dual citizenship,...

well,.. i got few living proof,... few of my schoolmate having dual citizenship,.. they did told me about this trick,.. u surrendering others citizenship in malaysia soil,... but actually malaysia authority got no power to cancel it,..,they will sent the passport to embassy or diplomat,.. and tell them this is our citizen, he want them to cancel the non malaysia citizenship,... the embassy or diplomat will also cannot simply cancel,.. they need your permission,..

so there's a law,.. but there's also a loop hole,..

KOTA KINABALU: Singapura dan Australia antara dua negara yang menjadi pilihan untuk rakyat Malaysia menukar kewarganegaraan.

Ketua Pengarah Pendaftaran Negara (JPN), Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, berkata Malaysia tidak membenarkan seseorang rakyat memiliki lebih daripada satu kewarganegaraan.

JPN tidak memiliki pangkalan data khusus untuk mengesan seseorang itu memiliki kerakyatan asing melainkan pihaknya menerima aduan berhubung perkara berkenaan.

"Mereka yang dikesan memiliki dua kerakyatan boleh dilucutkan kewarganegaraannya selepas JPN berpuas hati dengan bukti yang dikemukakan.

"JPN akan memulakan siasatan selepas menerima maklumat berhubung kesalahan itu," katanya di JPN Sabah, hari ini.

Ruslin berkata, sejak 1957 hingga Ogos lalu, JPN sudah melucutkan 7,593 rakyat Malaysia yang memiliki dua kerakyatan.

Ini sekali gus menyebabkan hak mereka sebagai warganegara seperti mengundi, memperoleh aset, kemudahan pendidikan dan kesihatan juga akan turut terlucut.

"JPN menyeru dan menasihatkan mereka yang mempunyai dwikerakyatan untuk menyerahkan salah satu kewarganegaraan.

"Kami memandang serius perkara ini dan rakyat Malaysia tidak boleh sewenang-wenangnya memiliki dwi kerakyatan kerana itu kesalahan mengikut undang-undang negara," katanya
