Seems V636 go back to V625 level...even 8MB smaller in size then V625.
Security patch also and back to AP06 from AP08.


Again NO DOLBY audio icon....NO WiFi again...NO TV Digital channels (must search again).
Going back to V635......

US models have different naming convention than MY versions as they are using Roku OS.

S535 (US 5 series) is similar to C716.

US models using Roku and Android also.

Example S434 models using also R851T02 firmware (V4xx), as we here,
but stripped version without Dolby Vision/Atmos , HDR10+. etc...

It's good to have regular updates but having too many updates if a huge concern too with this model/brand.

"It's good to have regular updates ".....TCL have regular update,same as other brands, 3-4 times a year on their web page.
"having too many updates".....this is not posted on TCL webpage, we have luck (or privilage) to have access on TCL servers.

Is individual matter ,
waiting for update firmware by air once or twice a year (also too much?) or
download firmware on TCL web page a few times a year ,if you know where.

Seemse also ,every PC (or phone) motherboard manufacturer raise (your) huge concern by releasing BIOS's (update) to often.

Chill la... Can't compare with mobile as most tv has a set of common apps being used mostly

In any event my old LED 55" Toshiba Pro Theatre L5400 still doesn't show signs of dying and it hasn't got an OTA update for the longest time 😂😂😂

But it never connected to WiFi at all as I'm using atv box 😝😝😝

Cant find a valid reason to replace unless I donated somewhere really in need.. 🤔

Didn't notice any difference to V635.
Sadly, Dolby audio icon still not appearing in Cable/Satellite/HDMI TV channels (last appearance in V625).

Yes overtime if you have plenty apps installed and delete... Best do cleanup with SD Maid Pro from time to time
