How much does it cost ?
Is it worth it ?
What if you are already living in the house ? Do you need to move for them to do their work?

Got companies do that but electric bill is going to be high. No need to move out.

Unless you are really out of space, I don;t thin it is worth it. If you convert to storage, then it will get full in no time with stuff that you don;t even look for laugh.gif

Why not just call the company. You can Goolgle. I remember found several quite some time ago.

Convert attic to usage room difficult as there is no natural air intake. Become compartment as storeroom is fine.

But you can convert the airway to a room. This is the part at the middle of highest floor where the ceiling is usually a floor higher. Most Msia house is design with airway. Depend on finishing, you can build it around RM8k-RM15k.

Went up to my attic to check on a leaking issue once. 3 minutes in I’m sweating like mad already. As in basah like after shower like that. And that’s like 7pm. Cannot imagine afternoon.

This will reduce the heat but not much. The cement roof tile accumulate heat and radiate heat.

You can put insulator. Fridge just use polystyrene but you don't do that for house insulation. Not fire safe smile.gif

Have you used (or using) this wind turbine in your home?
If yes, does rainwater enter during heavy / strong winds kind of rain?

No I did not. It is designed in such a way that will not leak water even during heavy rain. I believe it has been tested. It even has wind strength rating.

For a storage room, yes. For bedroom, i guess you can only sleep on the night since it will be very hot on the day.

But if the attic is open spaces, no door and renovated wall partition, then the heat is bearable.

Went up there, it was surprisingly hot. You gonna just waste lots of energy cooling it off with just aircond. Technically you are cooling your roof

Like other /k mentioned, if convert as storeroom, then it's OK.
But if you want to do like European style loft rooms, then perhaps not suitable. sweat.gif

No head no tail, no explain what’s the size of the attic and what kinda Reno you wanna do how to tell you the cost?

If you can tahan the noise, dust and smell from the works they are doing during the renovation then you can stay but most people would opt to move coz it’s uncomfortable.

Can also. You can have double glass window with tint and good insulator. Just prepare for electricity bill only. biggrin.gif

im currently staying in an attic converted the whole 3 floor. into a room, with bathroom and walk in closet. mostly only in the room during the night. even during day still ok with aircond and fan. 1.5HP should be sufficient. below is a rough visual i did for the renovators to visualize
