haha... not sure what does B-full bike means. B full is the standard license which permits all kind of bikes. B2 is restricted license limited to 250cc and below. kind of like D can drive both auto and manual but DA only can drive auto.

anyways. i don't quite know what to make of your predicament. the FZ150 tops out at around 140kmh so there is plenty of poke left if you are travelling at 100kmh. there are not many small roads where people drive all that fast. furthermore if you are already up to speed with the car in front then its pretty unlikely for people to purposely squeeze in so I can't imagine the scenario you mentioned being all that common. but then again, what do I know right?

but i will say this, if i find myself stuck behind a car with another car following behind me, i would also prefer to overtake the car in front, so wanting a faster bike is justified.

so back to your specific question. a 250cc can comfortable get above 150kmh which is gonna be faster than most cars on our roads.
*
140kmh not easily reachable for FZ150i. If stock, 9k rpm at 104kmh....red line is 10k. no more juice left, only slowly climbing up speed. sweat.gif

anyway, with my weight...best is 115kmh top speed. tongue.gif

Early morning rush hour. you'll be surprised... 80kmh, 90kmh at 1 lane narrow roads.
110kmh++ at 2 lane roads. I'd stay at emergency lane or I would die. bye.gif

keke... anyways, i think a 250cc suits your needs. personally if i am taking back roads i would prefer a bigger bike thou. more road presence

what is your commute mileage?

you meant in terms of technology or euro/gas restriction? supposed newer technology better power, or you could meant older non restricted engine more power.  hmm.gif

i remember my old zx7 (j & P) model can easily reach 240 for standard bike (simple full muzzy system can turn it to another monster) , first (definitely no full throttle), second gear very last moment (rev) to full throttle, third gear full throttle still need to push front down .......

couple year back i try my friend suzuki 650, is even more comfort than my softail heritage. hhahahah

Hi,

Looking to upgrade my FZ150i with another more powerful bikes as I'm commuting to work daily using non-highway, NARROW back road. The problem is always gets bullied by cars and modded rempit mopeds.

The mopeds I dont mind, but the cars always overtake and squeezing into my lane, despite following closely car in front. ranting.gif

I want to overtake, so I'm utilizing the rpm limit but without any significant acceleration  sweat.gif . The road only has 1 lane for each direction, so its quite dangerous for slow bikes to overtake cars.  sad.gif

Do you think 250cc makes a huge difference? or do i need to look into B full bikes like 650cc? Thanks sifu!  notworthy.gif
*
Upgrading to a 250, there would definitely be a difference in power, most people would find it enough for daily use.

A 650 bike however, would be a huge leap from your FZ150. The difference in power will be mind blowing. I upgraded from an R25 to an MT-07, and the low end power still makes me go "holy f*ck". Easy to cilok/lane-split, relatively lightweight, great acceleration. Can also consider Kawa Z650, Suzuki SV650 if you're into naked bikes.

i usually rode fz150i and last month bought used er6n. I ride the bike for going to work and I would say i rather regret it, due to following.

1) this bike is too fast. seriously, i cant play with the throttle like when im using the fz. I have to constantly remind myself that im not in my fz. i have to pull the throttle just a bit and be careful to not over exceed the pulling strength. Else ill find myself as if im about to be thrown out of the bike.

2) this bike is too heavy. imagine you are just finished work and find out that others bike on the left and right is too close to your bike. you have to spend extra strength in moving either both of the bikes or your bike.

3) this bike is attracting too much attention. When im on the road, i can feel the eyes on the bike. This is a no, i like to keep low profile.

4) last but most important, no more playing music and singing on my TWS. The attention have to be given to the bike, 100%.

Let me know if you are interested in buying this bike from me.

1) i knew about the er6n/f monstrous torque, but that bad? sweat.gif
2) i sat on it last time...doesnt felt that nimble compared to fz150i
3) i guess rempits felt challenged tongue.gif the thing is i ride fz with full face helmets, glove and jackets. Sort of became the center of attention lol laugh.gif the lights turn green, they full throttle pulling away from me. rclxms.gif
4) is that hard to maneuver & control the speed? shocking.gif

the torque is a monster. Need to be careful, even when ciloking around trafic jam.
And yeah, not really nimble, but doable. It all depends on traffic condition and our skills.
Maneuvering and controlling the speed is normal. Its only that when im riding with my bluetooth earbud, i cant do the singing, else ill see the bike going beyond 120km/h, and getting closer to the vehicle in front of me. my normal ride speed is 100-110 only.

Anyway, the point is, for me, er6n is too much Overpower for going to work within city. Its a good bike, and capable to overtake cars easily. If you bought it, definitely will reach the objective of this thread.

PS: I Should have bought nmax instead to enjoy santai riding while singing.

Haha I read through and know the feeling you going through.. Right now I'm looking at 300cc range bikes for the same reason - not overly powerful that I become too scared to ride and not too big that I can't cilok..

QUOTE(FulfillmentGuy @ Sep 18 2020, 04:52 PM)
Immediate quick fix is couple of used metal panniers on your fz150 will solve the problem ;-)
Check g310r if you are looking for build quality
*
The G310R is a good choice.. Others you can consider are
1. D400 - cheapest but heaviest in this list. 14k otr and the service centre is via modenas which is quite good.
2. Kawasaki Z300 - old bike and in bright yellow, some shops still selling this at 20k new. might be worth just going for the new Z250 same price same power slightly lower torque compared to the 300
3. Kawasaki Z400 latest version but in blue.. 30k range.. So price wise a 600cc might sway you
4. Zontes 310 - China bike but feature pack for the price (20k). Only thing to worry is the aftersale service.. No dedicate zontes workshop like modenas or kawasaki.. So have to gamble with a bike shop u trust..

Personally i am leaning towards the zontes but holding off my purchase to next month.. Now scouting around bike shops that carry this brand and checking out their after sales macam mana..

May be should consider scooter with at least 150cc engine. You’ll be more focused to accelerate and leaving all vehicles behind.

It was mentioned in this forum... ride like everyone is trying to kill you. 😄

er6n was on my list but i need abs considering my narrow road i'm commuting to work, you call it twisty. too much power without abs in twisties are dangerous tho icon_question.gif

in fact fz150i is fine for highway santai riding rclxms.gif just riding at 90-100 at left lane, no one bothers thumbup.gif
