Yes, can but don't expect mirage. There is slight improvement only. If you expect the Astro picture quality will look like bluray after upscale, you will be disappointed.

thanks for the reply. still tweaking with it. i put back astro S-Video connection back direct to HDTV. picture quality better. Will buy better HDMI cable latter. my problem my wife not happy as she has to switch on so many things just to watch astro as audio connected to AV amp. notice astro got digital audio out. may i use this to connect to av amp?

another problem Jamo speaker brown colour doesn't match my interior and my wife rather upset. i may i hv to sell this speakers.

U r using Onkyo 905 right? the Onkyo avr Taikor!    U meant ur hp charger got fried? PRC make? Nothing to do with ur Onkyo right? As for using the Onkyo USB, I will not use it as it might affect the pcb inside. I perfer to buy another hp charger & use the Onkyo ac outlet as it is safer.

How can the setup tripped? U leave the fan wire exposed?

if can, should just install aircon in room. placing a fan on top of your avr will generate a lot more dust inside.

I power the notebook cooler fan using my Onkyo 905 AVR USB port.
One simple solution if your Onkyo AVR don't have USB port, just buy USB hub with power adapter. Connect the USB power fan to USB hub.

After like 2 weeks, finally got a bit of time to read the manual. Phew.....sure is a lot of stuffs. I check my dvd(no hdmi) has this component video cable. its now connected using composite video cable. can someone recommend me what brand to get for component video cable, less than rm100 and more importantly where to get one.

am still quite blur. why is the AV have video in and video out. Does the video signal goes in and come out better than say dvd player direct to tv. i can understand audio but not video into AV. Is that upscaling? I currently hv conventional tv, would that make a difference.

my jamo tower front speaker got 2 terminals. but they connect only using 1 terminal(one +, one -). I cannot find any instruction manual on Jamo why got this 2 terminal. Is that Bi-Amping? I read the AV manual on Bi-Amping and regret i dunno how its been connected(yes, even with the picture).

Is outdoor TV antenna can be used to connect to FM? and the manual says to ground it. how to ground outdoor antenna.

For the price I would agree cannot complain much. Don't know about 12R, but with my 12Q I'm getting quite good bass. There's quite a bit of slam and impact. I believe EQ'ing helps and I've run the auto-EQ on the 12Q plus Audyssey on my receiver too and it has flattened out the response.

Of course I've not heard the SVS so I am very curious how much better it is. I do expect the SVS to go deeper and louder. Wondering if it is also cleaner

How do you find it after the Audyssey?

For me, after built in auto EQ got slight improvement. Run Audyssey some more improvement. Yes, still got some looseness in the bass but I reduced that using my home built 'subdude'. So after 2 rounds of EQ plus the 'subdude' the bass is better. In terms of reducing looseness the most effective is the 'subdude'.

I upgraded my old Onkyo 875 to a 876 last week.

I have to say the implementation of the Onkyo 876 is really great. The new options like ISF night/day/custom, they new Audyssey microphone, some new Audyssey (Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume) options are really great.

I also believe that the Reon bug for the colour space conversion is also fixed now. Really for the price range, the amount of options are really good.

For those who have displays that do not have grayscale adjustments, this is definately something to look seriously at. With the ISF controls you have custom grayscale for each input. I would recommend this amp for anyone with displays that have limited controls.

Also with the 2 HDMI output it is very flexible. You can choose to upscale thru one output and send the signal through in the other.

The new Audyssey microphone gets most of the speaker trims spot on, so further adjustments with the SPL meters are not really necessary. Also the sound seems more accurate post Audyssey.

Will update more as I spend more time with it.
