chat with my trusted Affin Staff who helped me applying VS and Duo.

told her the "outstanding balance" word is super confusing.

she'll check with the product owner to verify.

feedback from Affin staff.

it's actually based on outstanding balance as per the announcement.

eg if you clear your outstsanding before statement, you'll only get rm50 capped cb (cuz outstanding is less than rm3k)

I think most of us only clear statement balance and not outstanding balance which means good news then 👍
*
rightly so, especially those pay near due date with 20days grace period laugh.gif

I guess affin use this term as a blanket term...

>> spending + refunds + fees (?) + installments (?) + payment = outstanding balance

grey area is whether it include non-retail transactions such as BTs, SST, AF. etc whereby these also contribute to the outstanding balance amount too.

then also exclusions, whether they are counted into outstanding but not earning cb regardless.

So, meaning their outstanding balance = statement balance?
*
if non-retail transactions considered (which counted in outstanding balance), then my guess is statement balance

thanks for the summary. smile.gif appreciated~~~
so we need to start spend 3080 on june statement since July going to refer back to June's statement.  dry.gif
*
loophole is can take advantage of all the BTs/CIPs since it would be accumulated into the "previous balance"

I won't call it a loophole  biggrin.gif

Now so clear already, Previous Balance is stated at the statement. Mo more outstanding balance nonsense.
*
yep

just to ensure June's nett/final statement balance is RM3k or more ---> become as Previous Balance in July statement cycle

3% cashback is for 3 categories only, not based on the whole previous balance amount

thanks for confirming, then if that's the case, if my statement date is 14th, so 14th july onwards, on 13th july i did 3080, then i should able to reap entire rm80 without any interest right?
*
txn MUST be POSTED first before it can be BILLED (statemented) and EARN cashback

with the revision @ 1 July, there are 2 criteria:

1) CURRENT statement MUST have "YOUR PREVIOUS BALANCE" amount of RM3k or more in order to be eligible for RM80 capped cb. else, RM50 capped cb.

ie your previous statement balance is to determine your current cashback capping tier -- RM80 or RM50

2) then all eligible (3 categories) transactions MUST be POSTED (T-1 day) into your CURRENT statement, then only calculated for cashback. if not posted, nothing to count, right? posting exactly on statement date would be pushed to next cycle.

ie all eligible posted transactions are counted. heck, "calculated" cb can be RM100 or RM200 or more.

3) then EARNED cashback shall be based on the capping (RM80/RM50) or less than that.

this is like taking exams for college/university/sponsored edu....

PAST results is to determine your FUTURE placement biggrin.gif
CURRENT results is to determine your reward

Complicated but can be understood. Since i'm on 2 BT for quite some time, happy to say temporary does not need to spend 3080 to get 80.

Just feels meh, less than 1 year in for this card. Oh well... enjoy while last...
*
i think better they refer to 1 specific value rather than deconstruct each billed items to determine which are counted (eg retail txn) and not counted (eg non-retail txn ilke BT/CIP instalments)

they also need to comms out to cardholders so that we can understand too laugh.gif laugh.gif

Hi guys, currently I still have >RM3k for my "previous balance" because of few balance transfer (can last for few more months), so actually I can still just spend RM2667 to get RM80 cash back, am I right?
*
yes

cashback is only applicable to eligible 3 categories, NOT 3% of the whole "previous statement balance" --- which may contain retail + non-retail txn + overdue outstanding too

If we were to put it in layman terms, as long as we pay full on time, we won't entitle for any CB?
*
look at your last 2 statements and trace back how YOUR CURRENT BALANCE is derived.

Normally I just spent 3k every month in order to get the max 80 cashback. And I got a BT of 750 monthly and left 6 more to wrap up.

So can I still keep it this way?
*
if affin's system implementation follows what is written in the FAQ, then yes --- as long as BT installment still contribute to last month's statement balance

If your BT ended (RM0) + spending RM3,000 - earned cb RM80 = RM2,920 current statement balance <-- in turn, this will become YOUR PREVIOUS BALANCE in NEXT statement cycle, which will dropped your cb capping to RM50 only (eventhough your eligible spending is RM3,000 also)

Below is current cashback mechanism.

If i continue maintain same spending amount from June onwards, my July cashback would be capped to RM50.

i.e. June's statement balance determines July's cashback capping

Payment due date: 12 May 21
Actual payment date: 18 May 21
Next statement sate: 22 May 21

I forgotten to pay my CC (first time), but I didnt see the charges either in those posted in my new statement balance on 22 May 21.

Obviously not gonna call CS and ask why there’s no interest charges ahahaha.

By right it should appear in my 22 May 21 statement balance?

Statement is not generated but the statement amount and transaction history (including the RM80 rebate has been calculated in online banking)
*
statement can already be downloaded from affin portal since morning liao

the new tnc is work on july right?

if my statement date is 15may to 14june, i think wont be affected by the new tnc right? i mean 2667 for 80...

but for statement 15june to 14july, then need to swipe 3080 for 80?

did i miss anything?
*
you need to look at how your statement works (i already shared the screenshots earlier)

BLUE highlights -- 15may to 14june -- you still need to accumulate new statement balance of RM3k or more. why? read below.

RED highlights -- 15june to 14july -- in this statement, it captured YOUR PERVIOUS BALANCE. so, where does this amount comes from?
