Bloody hell I would have bought this in a heartbeat... if it had arrived 2.5 years ago.

Saw all kinds of mid-capacity ADV bikes at the show on Wed. Really spoilt for choice now.

The Chinese offerings looked very convincing, the only problem is Mforce tapao all.

What do you guys think of the price? Reasonable? Gotta note that Honda's Hornet price is super close to the 8R and 8S, and there's a whole bunch of upcoming China bikes soon to challenge the Japanese dominance.

I think they are priced reasonable fro cbu japan bikes.
Although the 8R might get the same treatment like the 8S if it doesn't sell well... so wait for possible rebate?

Their closest japan competitor here is kawasaki, but they don't have the same segment for the 800cc platform.

Kawazaki just does one better giving you 948cc displacement for the same price.

Just too bad they don't have a full fairing sports tourer...next step up is the 1000sx and another planet's price point.

Those bikes even though with 800cc (82hp) are still twins. Lack the power (it has more torque though) and sound of triples or 4-cylinder bikes. That makes them seem a little less substantial to the buying public. Perhaps those into lightweight twin cylinder bikes may go for them but for the money, a Z900 still has more grunt and sounds way nicer, while being more affordable (to me, for bikes, I don't see much difference between CBU and CKD). Even Triumph's Trident 660 (80hp) and Daytona 660 (95hp) offer more for the asking price than the 8R and 8S. So, like you mentioned, just wait for them to rebate

Ya. I totally agree! The lack of a full fairing Z900 is a huge wasted opportunity now that fully faired bikes are slowly making a comeback.

Susuki should be cbu jap, but tht honda should be frm thailand, angmoh said go compare the built quality (hornet)

z900 just need a little bit of upgrade to be perfect.. ride by wire, quickshiter + autoblipper, and cruise control.

8R main competitor should be the CBR650R and Daytona 660.. 8R price quite higher than both the others, I think we're gonna get another round of rebate incombing, sus is their marketing strats all along, to filter the actually buyer.
