Yes different people different taste I guess. But i am also in dilemma. Civic or RS. I love the tech and immd in RS. Something fresh and new. Could be fun and all.
Civic in the other hand is a bit dated. But then c segment and bigger space.

New tech vs Proven tech, see your priorities lor...

You want new tech but dun think City RS worth the price, wait for upcoming Civic with even better tech lor... But still need to wait, and maybe new Civic base model might price even higher than current model...

Wish I could know what’s the initial price proposed by Honda that caused so much delay.
It has to be quite a bit lower right ? Otherwise this price thing would’ve settle long time already.

Last time i heard, some of our honda models got delayed or not available was due to high price where they failed to negotiate with the Govt?
Not sure....

I asked my SA, he told me getting headache and wondering how to sell RS.

Guess have to rely on the car reviewer's hype.

The silence and lack of hype in this thread kinda answers your question.

RS 105k
Civic 1.8 108/9k

RS -> Bells and whistles of new tech.
Civic 1.8 -> Entry level crab but proven tech (aside from the bad QA from H)

To compare
RS 105k vs Civic TCP 134k

29k difference. You think la, worth it or not.

IMHO, 100k should be C seg already. B seg belongs @ highest 95k. Don't ask what about 96k - 99k. rclxms.gif

If those taukes themselves driving alphard/mercedes, they may just buy another cheap B-segment car exclusively for their college-going children.

BMW is more likely tauke’s own car or family car.

Global chips shortage and this IMMD hybrid actually higher specs and newer tech than current top specs, so they can’t price it as little as current top specs.

I am still considering. It is a hybrid after all. Hybrid is always more expensive than only ICE.
Part of the reason for the high price is that the hybrid/EV incentives from the Najib administration has been discontinued by Mahathir's administration.
So there are no longer Hybrid or EV pricing incentives for this type of car. Just the regular EEV incentives across the board (got nothing to do with electric/hybrid).
Even though the low spec Civic is in the similar price range, it is still a low spec car. You might as well consider the City V spec in that case.

The pricing drama is the same as with the HRV previously, Honda was trying to maintain the pricing of the facelift but was forced by MITI to push up the price.
Many that booked the HRV facelift eventually cancelled the car, especially the HRV RS.
This is just a repeat of the same nonsense.

Current administration is busy with COVID-19 and its own political survival. So expect any automotive plans to be put on hold.
The incentive introduced by Mahathir's administration is rubbish, it is meant to be anti-consumer.
You will have to just suck it up if you want o buy a hybrid now.
