I think 1 more thing u need to be prepare is money. Chinese schools are basically runs through donations. So in a year they probably be asking u to help n donate for various reasons

Better for bumi to be straight A student. After form 5 get to go UK for pre-u and straight Univ on gomen money. If he gets 1st class no need bayar balik, then can do Masters and get a good job overseas.

My kampung SJKC (rendah) dunno why sooo frequent after class tuition. Mungkin sebab nak compete in national exam result

First, you have to accept that some parents are inherently discriminating to other parents that can't read mandarin. But look past it and you will realized that there are a lot of helpful ones around. Make friends with those that are willing to help as a lot of communication between school/teachers and parents are in mandarin.
A lot of English educated parents are sending their kids to SJKC so you do not need to worry too much if your child can communicate in English, as most of the kids start by talking with friends in English too.

My dad sent me to school for me expand my circles... and not rigid to just malay culture. Sekali manatau, i also sama naik nakal lol.

But that time ayam attended srjk pagi, sekolah agama petang. Gitu la... siang baju lain petang baju lain lol!!!

Actually I'm also from SK and I can't read Mandarin, luckily my wife can.
I sent my kids to SJKC. It's not a decision I take lightly but after surveying a few schools, it's depressing that SK quality has dropped so much which resulted in the decision to send the kids so SJKC.
I do however support the abolishment of vernacular school if SK schools are brought back to the qualities of yesteryear.

lots of homework, activities, and get really to pay for donation which always ask from school for survival.
