If you still want a kitchen next to the dining, build a dry kitchen cum breakfast bar and leave the existing kitchen as wet kitchen and close it with the door. Our asian cooking is very stinky and oily. You do not want that kitchen next to the dining and open up to the living. vdvaart liked this post

your house is only a 20 x 70..
not recommend to do such extensive renovation works. A job like this would easily cost 30-40k, Not including the kitchen carpentry or counter-top, tiles, etc.. which is easily another 15-20k additional. why spend so much money on a small unit?? don't go crazy la.. you won't get back the money. |

With a slighty easier modification, you can achieve more passage between the dining area and kitchen. Turn the 90 degree corner in the bedroom into angular like the red line. Then for the wall between the kitchen and the store/dining room, make a window (I think its called serving hatch) in the blue line area. So with this minimum modification, you sacrifice a bit on the bedroom size and increase the passage area between the dining and kitchen. You could try something similar with the blue area, but I couldn't figure how, so I suggest serving hatch instead. You could so angle out the cabinet at between the dining and kitchen. I think this will really gives a clear view on the kitchen, and many people can fit beween the kitchen and dining. As for the bedroom door, you might want to get a different style of door. Perhaps a rolling, shuttle, or sliding type. Attached thumbnail(s) vdvaart liked this post
