A C&D doesn't necessarily progress to actual lawsuit if accuser continues with the story. Even if a lawsuit by small chance occurs, it usually degenerates into she-said he-said.

An accuser may have been intimidated into withdrawing from social media out of fear and fanbase threats.

Well its a moot point. ResetEra justified their actions by using claims of misogyny and assault allegations (read the links already posted). Whether they are true, or not true, proven or unproven, they exist, and that's the justification used for the ban. You can agree or disagree with that, but you can't turn around and say they banned him because of his critical review on TLOU2, considering others who had the same opinions about the game were not banned.

You can say its unfair that he was banned for that, but you can't say he was banned for not liking the game, that's proven to not be the case.

Fact is, he was banned after he uploaded his Last of Us 2 review, not after allegations was made against him way back in June which the accuser backpedaled and deleted.

If you insist that he was banned for the allegation, this just made it even worst because the "bigoted remarks" means he was banned partly because he defended himself against false allegations.
