Happy Chinese New Year. Didn’t know got such thread here. Just got back into riding, and have the interest for trail mountain biking.
Made the decision and bought an entry level polygon premier 5 hardtail. Last time I cycled was when I was a teen. Used to do trial riding. Injured myself a lot. Lol.
Now everyday rain. Susah wanna go try pcp. Any advise for a beginner to try out some trails? Klang valley area.

QUOTE(Mavik @ May 25 2022, 09:39 PM) You can definitely go ride in PCP and start off with the easier green and blue trails there. The red ones do have some jumps but just use the alternate lines and you would be fine. Very easy and simple ride about PCP. By myself? I'm all in for that but advised against by experienced riders

QUOTE(Mavik @ May 26 2022, 02:23 PM) Honestly for PCP, you will find a lot of people who ride there alone. I have done that plenty of times. Just stay safe, don't attempt trails that you aren't comfortable with and there isn't any harm just sticking to green and blue trails. Point taken. Thanks

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ May 27 2022, 06:55 PM) im one of those lonely rider in pcp. i usually during lunch hour go there for a full xc loop. you can go alone and explore the trail slowly. in rare cases they will be snake, wild boars, or monkey in the trail. but very rarely la. no need to worry. Haha thanks? Now I am "less" afraid. But will try to do a single run there. But during lunch time? Tak insanely hot ke.

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ May 27 2022, 07:11 PM) its the only time i have to ride during the weekdays. haha. but the trail is a canopy dont feel that hot anyway unless when u in open areas. usually more people will come during evening. its better you go evening coz at least you will find other rider crosses your path. OK cool. But I can do weekends la. Will try it sometime soon. More encouraged to try it out

Finally went to pcp today to try solo ride. Took the green trail. Only managed a 25 mins ride. Pancit after that. Was not prepared for all the climbs on the green trail. Also, was slippery because it was after rain. Nevertheless, more comfortable riding solo now. Will attempt again next weekend. Thanks for the encouragement.

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Jun 27 2022, 01:02 AM) haha congrats. theres always a first time. pcp is quite challenging for beginner. surely will pancit on the climbs. after rain will be slippery. usually ill lower the tyre psi. did you manage to get on the top? the observation hut above will reward u with a soothing view. Not sure if that was the top but whilst crying up that track, it showed the moderate trail entrance. So I u turn before reaching the hut (unsure if that's the hut you meant) But at that point, didn't care abt any view. Really out of gas.

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Jun 29 2022, 06:14 PM) there is actualy sort of observatory tower (or gazebo as we call it) somewhere at the top. but i dont remember the trail marking. if you ask me trail marking i have no idea. among ourselves we just call it the "full loop" or "full xc loop". maybe other experts in here can clarify. Haha then don't think I did. I did trail 1 and I forgot whats the other connecting green trail called. Then gassed out. Too much climbing for a beginner. Encountered wild boar. Terkejut. U turn. Had fun nonetheless.

QUOTE(Guyver @ Jun 29 2022, 03:37 PM) I do think that I had my saddle height setup correctly, as I'm using the method you are mentioning. but I will do it again once my nephew is over at my place, he is my bike buddy for the moment. I will continue to monitor 1st and if my knees really start feeling uncomfortable, I will think about a set of new crank arm. Actually me too >100kg. Thanks for the advice. Thanks for the advice. Again thank you all for your advice, as mentioned, I will continue to monitor the situation, if my knees start feeling uncomfortable, I will seek advice again at my LBS. nice bike bro. i am also aiming a d7 or t7 in the near future. dont dare to commit yet. now stil hangat2 tahi ayam. im also like you. i started unconsciously shopping for bike parts. jersey la. tires la. helmet la. gloves la. cycling bag la.... and then now it slowly became FS trail bikes la... but lucky wallet kosong, so never pull the trigger yet on the more expensive items.

QUOTE(Guyver @ Jul 15 2022, 07:09 PM) It is the fear of "hangat hangat tahi ayam" that makes me to get the T7. Cause the price will motivates me riding it. Damn. Positive way of looking at it.

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Jul 21 2022, 10:00 PM) Trust me Just straight go for the t7 You will appreciate the additional suspension travel and the geometry. And then sooner you will be poisoned to play drops and jumps. The new t7 colour scheme is nice. Black and white. The price is at least 1.5k more .. Aduh. Decisions decisions. Thanks for the input. Couldn't agree more with you. But the other part of me also is thinking. Don't invest so much because don't know how long you will be interested. anyone know where i can get rear shocks pin?
i bought a used bike. the ex owner rojak some china made rear shocks onto the bike. i managed to get the original shocks, but the pins dont match (current pin is smaller), so when i transfer over, got some free play which I dont think is recommended.
for rock shox. the DU bush is there, just the pin size not ngam.
