I dont becoz I got the fork three month later as I stuck at kampong due to MCO.
*
I bought this fork too for me hardtail, but I paid close to rm900 for it if I remember correctly.

I'm planning to open it to "convert " to 120mm.
I shall see the internals by then.

You do know this fork can convert between 80mm to 120mm.?

Yeah, the normal price is 800-900~.
When I see the price so cheap, I think I just get a jackpot price. sweat.gif

*
Look at the bright side. At least you didn't buy a fake with the original price. Lol.

Try out the oval ring for 2 days straight.....and im loving it....I believe it might not make a different for strong rider but for weak rider like me....definitely can feel the difference, i getting less tired going uphill compare to my 28T round chainring and the pedalling stroke feel so much difference...usually on 28T i would crank all the way up to highest gear but on the oval i would only stick to 2nd or 3rd last high gear on the same road.....
*
Back in the 90s, I once used an oval chainring crankset by Shimano, 200gs.
they call it the biopace

I hated it.

Hi all, has been a while since I posted anything in this and previous threads.
Just want to ask, the current trend is 29 wheels for AM bike?
Is 27.5 slowly phasing out already? From what I see, most bike manufacturers' website have like a lot of 29 models but only 1 or 2 models for 27.5 (AM bikes).
*
Usually the 27.5 are for frame size S. But it depends on the manufacturer.

Now trending is mullet set up
Front 29 , rear 27.5

My main concern is uphill climbing..... i wonder how the performance compare to other tyre like DHR and DHF
*
What's your headtube angle ?
That will affect the climbing. Tyres ,... Don't think it is so significant.

Happy Chinese New Year. Didn’t know got such thread here. Just got back into riding, and have the interest for trail mountain biking.

Made the decision and bought an entry level polygon premier 5 hardtail. Last time I cycled was when I was a teen. Used to do trial riding. Injured myself a lot. Lol.

Now everyday rain. Susah wanna go try pcp. Any advise for a beginner to try out some trails? Klang valley area.

Just got my brand new Maxxis ikon 2.35 to replace my old DHF 2.35 front....
Surprisingly, after changing up the front .... now feel very light and more lively when engage in the uphill climb but im going to miss the stability the DHF provide when going downhill.... Those ikon especially size 2.35 are freaking expensive tires.....can but 2pcs of ikon 2.20 already  doh.gif
*
What you using at the back?
I believe when it comes to climbing or rolling resistance, rear tyre have bigger effect.

I have been itching to try PCP but always kena ffk by my 1 cycling friend and not advisable to go alone. Truthfully, I have had few times I wanted to go myself.
*
Got. Me and another two riding buddy.

But I would like to remain "anonymous".

Sorry

If you love jumps drops and gaps.
PCP is for you

Dinding is also another place you can consider.
Got a few DH trails, AM trail , fakawi and fukuyu trail.

. After installing, setting the saddle height correctly and moved the saddle rearward as much as possible, I found that I still can't get a straight line between my right kneecap and the paddle's axle, it is around 2~3cms forward than the axle. Has anyone facing the same problem? Beside getting a new saddle or even a new bike cry.gif , what else can I do? How will it affect my ride or kneecap if I just leave it as it is? notworthy.gif
*
Is your saddle height set up correctly?

Since t7 comes with a dropper, put it to fully extend first.
Get someone to hold the bike straight as you sit on it.
Put the pedal , either right or left, at its lowest point.
Rest your heel on the axle/centre of the pedal... When the saddle height is set correctly, your leg should be in a relaxed straight line.

Once set , check your knee line to the pedal axle again.

If it is still off and you are particular about this setting, you may need to consider changing the crankarm to a different length . The crankarm that comes with your bike should be a 170mm.

I do think that I had my saddle height setup correctly, as I'm using the method you are mentioning.
but I will do it again once my nephew is over at my place, he is my bike buddy for the moment.

I will continue to monitor 1st and if my knees really start feeling uncomfortable, I will think about a set of new crank arm.
Be aware that longer crankarm = more prone to pedal strike if you mistime the pedal position when going through terrain.

nice bike bro. i am also aiming a d7 or t7
Trust me
Just straight go for the t7

You will appreciate the additional suspension travel and the geometry.

And then sooner you will be poisoned to play drops and jumps.

The new t7 colour scheme is nice. Black and white.

polygon is a better brand. but can you get it below your 3k budget ? whats the spec?

if you have to choose between L and XL, choose L. smaller bike better maneuverability. if its too small you still can adjust it later with stem and seatpost without compromising the geometry too much.
*
Need to consider the reach as well.

i managed to find a deal for Polygon D7 XL for 4k, owner used the bike for like 4 times only to see if he likes mountain bike or not...

is it a good deal for 4k?
*
What type of trail do you plan to ride?

Mostly xc type of trail?
Then ok, d7 will be fine.

But if you are keen to do enduro type, jumps drops, etc. D7 is not really that suitable.

D7 will be fine then

I had a d7 for 6 months. Good bike, climb well.

Sold it off as I seldom use it. Most of the time using the trail bike.
