Nowadays where got ‘simple off-road trails’ in KL anymore? At one time FRIM is that, but no more accessible to us.

I’m a regular at Kemensah…uphill towards Bkt Pau is nice and smooth, but the trail to the dam is another story….and the other trails leading to waterfalls are also ‘killers’ ….. 😁

guys any tips or guide for first time alone in Kemensah ? i heard alot but never went there yet.

anyone know where i can get rear shocks pin?

i bought a used bike. the ex owner rojak some china made rear shocks onto the bike. i managed to get the original shocks, but the pins dont match (current pin is smaller), so when i transfer over, got some free play which I dont think is recommended.

for rock shox. the DU bush is there, just the pin size not ngam.

Used to cycle kemensah up to Johnny tree site to lepak and get fresh air and also sofea Jane waterfall for a cool shower before heading back ( serious the water feel so diff from house water so much fresh like Mandi cold coconut water lol)

But I hate how atv tires korek the trails until u cant pedal anymore have to push bike on certain segments

But it’s one of the best place to cycle coz it’s just fresh to cycle there. Bring some bread too so u can bond with Johnny family

Ya man, those ATVs are a nuisance destroying the track at Kemensah. Even hikers also finding it hard to hike due to the ATVs activities.

Yes, permit is needed to go to Sofea Jane and also the dam area. But I know lots of ppl never bothered abt applying for the permit.

You can forget abt calling them as yr call wud most probably not answered  Permit fees is RM5.00/pax. If inconvenient, can always engage the svs of a runner.

I would love to join, but I am such a noob rider pushing in downhill and not to mention uphill

So far, I hv not heard abt ATV operators 'subletting' their permit to MTBs. IMHO, I would think it is not a legal deal cos far as I know the ATV operators' license is solely for them to operate the ATVs only.

I go there often on weekends and still push up some hills 😅.

The next time my buddy and I go there again (probably next weekend), we may try to find that trail leading to another waterfall (not Sofea Jane).

To add, recommend to get a smart watch. Monitoring your heart rate is pretty imp... imo.

I once reached 200bpm.. then I knew I needed a rest...

If you're using Samsung phone just get the galaxy watch 4, can find it for around 500 during sales... Bough mine during 8.8 for RM460

Garmin watches , and with those chest straps for more accurate HR measurements.

Or perhaps a Garmin cycling computer (Edge series) paired to the chest strap, if you don’t like watches.

Oredi went today…Kemensah…burned way too many calories and HR went full maximum…so much so Garmin suggested I need 45 hours to recover!
