Yup, oh i see you have it already. Sorry i viewed from tiny phone screen, lol.  biggrin.gif
How bout chain and casette cleaner/brushed?
*
haha.. this one I don't have.

Usually I take off the chain and put into 300ml petrol by using the half cut engine oil bottle. The cassette I use old tooth brush mix with petrol to rub it.

The used petrol I will mix it with used engine oil and give to foreman by throw into used oil collector tank.

Last time heard you change from outer BB to square type BB, what brand BB you use? got affected the original chain line or not ? How the feel ? I really lack of this knowledge.

I changed to SHIMANO UN-55 BB square taper with 110mm length fits my original chain line nicely.
*
your new crankset is listed 110mm to fit the chainline? Else how to know the BB length if convert from 2 pieces crankset to 3 pieces crankset?

Polygon 8 speeds + hydraulic brake+ cheaper price vs marin 7 speeds + mechanical brake + more expensive.

The crankset for polygon TA-CQ68 is not steel but aluminum. I not sure you copy the spec from where but beware, a lot bike shop like to change the original spec also.

Both crankset are very entry level, if chainring spoil, you gonna change whole set.

Thanks for the reply, i copied the spec from rodalink webpage.

It seems Polygon cascade 4 is the better buy but i dont really like the colour and seems the tyre is thinner than Marin.

If i stretch my budget to 1.8k ,any other suggestion for this budget?

Thanks

I am not sure because a lot bicycle brand which sell in Malaysia got different dealer. Every bicycle shop ONLY promote what they have in their shop. This is the problem. So you need to understand the nearest bike shop selling what brand around your budget.

Buying online got some disadvantage, first the warranty issue. We can not guarantee the unit we buy is not lemon unit am I right? Majority buying new bike from bike shop, seller will offer you free service 1 or 2 times within 1 year.

As you mention you don't like the color and tyre size, that one only small matter. You should really consider the riding style and riding behavior. Example left hand brake control rear wheel and right hand brake control front wheel. Majority bike selling Malaysia almost are left front right rear setting. If for mechanical brake, that are easy to swap but if hydraulic brake there is another story.

Buy in shop can simply ask seller to swap it free. Buy online you need to DIY or take to bike shop.

So now you can survey those brand easily found near your place and within your budget and bring in here to discuss.

I don't know this 2019 Fox Van RC same like old time DHX 5.0 or not but now seem got people sell it RM77x instead of its normal price US199.

user posted image

But that seller only offer 1 size.

For entry level fox shock, it seem like a good choice.

Compared to today's new coil shocks, this will feel basic and not very refined. Can't really fine tune it much because you only get compression and rebound setting. Better to stick to a modern air can like a DPS that's probably gonna feel much better, especially for that 7XX price.
*
how much for the DPX air shock ?

I really like the coil shock, so sensitive, and can make it so soft.

Not sure how much is it. Usually comes with the bike.

What bike do you want to put the coil on?

Malaysia seldom bike shop can offer this brand new box set.

Use on AM bike. But my bike don't have 220mm e2e rear travel. So forget about it. tongue.gif

Ok lah, if you look at their bike pricing, after convert, Malaysia polygon still much cheaper. Not like computer parts here...dollar to MYR convert still need to add $$$ haih

Polygon in US pricing..

D5 - 1049 USD
D7 - 1599 USD
T7 - 1799 USD
T8 - 2299 USD
N9 - 2999 USD
*
Polygon bike in Malaysia profit margin are high. If you calculate like this sure can not compare the entry level vs mid range in other place.

26 inch MTB 17" size aluminum hard tail 1.8kg frame with RM188 selling price still can gain money. Really can not imagine how the local bike can survive.

With that price pair with bolany air fork 26 inch RM2xx 1.7kg + shimano alivio 1x9 speeds + tons of china made stem /handlebar/ seatpost/ saddle can build a hardtail less than 10kg below RM800 budget.

Really a good choice for idea of leisure exercise in residential.

When I was looking at the pedals, I noticed it was pretty cheap(not dirt cheap)... I also see ppl give like 5 star rating... unless I saw the last one posted 1 star... the comments were either deleted or edited by seller but the last picture had that buyer with a middle finger in front of the product... so I googled and found out everyone got duped... Lol

I guess those got tricked either fairly new or not a detail/technical people...
*
That's true. They either fairly new or not a detail/technical people.

So obvious these products are fake but buyer's reviews are 5 stars. The price is not even cheaper than original OEM price. LOL
