Anyone getting Rage copy from pbseller? How we know it's an Anarchy Edition?
Because nothing displayed on the game cover such?
*
Bought it from him.

No idea whether it is Anarchy Edition or not.

Just comes with that Sewers DLC.

Just played one mission.

Enjoyed it.

Definitely quite buggy, occasion slowdowns and some slow loading artifacts. Nothing game breaking so far.

I forgot to inform. I'm not in Malaysia.
So am hoping to grab a digital copy cheap. Lesser than 59$ at least.
*
Get someone to buy it for you in Malaysia.

Activate it via your Steam account, get him / her to log off.

You log on in your current residence and download the whole game.

Anyone who purchase Rage PC version from pbseller can request the Anarchy Edition cd key upgrade from him.
I asked him whether the copy we purchase from him is anarchy or not, so he told me that he forgot to include the cd key for Anarchy upgrade.
Just pm him for the cd key.
Thanks.
*
Thanks, I will do so immediately.

Saw this at other forums

http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/how-t...w-simple-tweaks

Haven't try it yet since I can only play this weekend. Also already ask Pbbseller about the Anarchy upgrade code. He said now waiting for his supplier for the code.
*
Thanks, gonna try this at home tonight.

Thanks to alex82, here are some settings that might help in reducing the texture pop out significantly and eliminate screen tearing:

1. Download and install the latest drivers.

2. Force V-sync

3. Add the following command:
+ cvaradd g_fov 20 +set com_skipIntroVideo 1 + image_anisotropy 16 + image_usecompression 0 +set com_allowConsole 1

4. Enable GPU transcode

Close shave there bro.

On related news, my 4870x2 may have finally crapped itself after almost 3 years. No signal to the monitor anymore. Damn.  sweat.gif  doh.gif

When did that happen?

Time to upgrade to a newer GPU.

The texture popping thingy i noticed when i moved the cursor from left to right or right to left, nampak macam something popping up,
But no slow down or anything lah other than that issue. The game runs perfectly smooth on my machine.

Try using the settings that I posted earlier.

Carmack: PC is not the leading platform for us
user posted image
QUOTE
Legendary developer John Carmack, founder of id Software and the father of the first person shooter with classics like DOOM, has forsaken the PC platform as the "leading platform for games," which creates a curious subtext following the disastrous launch of the PC version of Rage.

The reasons are chiefly economical: while PCs may have 10 times the power of consoles, too much energy are expended trying to use the PC's vast resources, resulting in "an inferior product" trying to expend “a tenth of the resources on a platform that’s 10 times as powerful.” In other words, gameplay takes a backseat to technology. Not only does lead developing on a PC make a less interesting game, but the console versions are even weaker thanks to the limiting of gameplay for tech unavailable on the platforms.

One thing that bears out what Carmack is saying is that the biggest selling games on PC are games that require very little resources, like casual games, social networking games, and MMOs, which seldom require cutting edge machines

it's alllivveeeeee (my 4870x2)

Just did the Ghost bandit and Ark sewer missions.

With the 8192 texture + anisotropic tweak, the game looks really good and no more texture popping. Runs fast too!

Owned all id software games, including Commander Keen or something.

Except Quake 4, will get that once it is on sale.

Late 2008 or Jan 2009 iianm.
In CCC, just force vsync to always on.
Edit: with the new v11.10 drivers you might not have to do this, as the release notes state "Automatic vsync" for Rage.

In the folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rage\base\ create a file rageconfig.cfg (save it as "rageconfig.cfg" in notepad, with the quotes otherwise it will be saved as a txt file).
In the file:

This will enable/force 8k textures and anisotropic filtering (no more blurry textures).

Make sure to also be using the latest Ati Rage performance drivers (if you're using ATI that is - like me). Latest Cat 11.10 preview drivers here:

Is your GPU custom cooled?

Mine usually last more than 5 years. All of them using third party coolers.

Yup custom cooled. Artic Cooling Accelero Extreme. The VRMs still tend to get hot though, but much better than the stock cooler.

That is my favourite brand for GPU cooler.

Same here, using that one my Nvidia Geforce GTX580.

Whisper quiet.
