QUOTE(thunderbird @ Nov 16 2008, 09:01 PM)
erm.... basically i travel about 120km a day (round trip)

so, i guess speed, comfortable and safety are the major concern.

First of all, i would change the tyre,

front tyre to 80/90 (any other recommendation?)

rear tyre 100/90 (ok?)

Maybe Dunlop TT or Bridgestone, as budget is not a problem for me.
*
for me, 80/90 for front is too big,
later bike will felt heavy. mine currently use 80/80, feels good thumbup.gif

most LCians prefer either Dunlop or Duro,
Bridgestone is way too pricey, even the cheapest one costs not less than RM200 per piece sweat.gif

QUOTE
How about engine oil? Any recommendation?

for engine oil (EO) I prefer Linx 4T aka Selenia. looks like chapalang and UFO-brand EO but for me it's the best EO I've ever use compared to Shell VSX and Motul 3100. refer to kom135 member in my siggy, most of them prefer the same EO brand too.

Summore got sand and doggies running around...
Some badass cars like to makan 2 lane when cornering, very dangerous oso.
This is the best hill run that I can find on Penang Island, tougher than the route from Tapah to Cameron Highland. It is really easy to masuk lubang!
Well, my skill isn't that good yet. What I do usually is to memorize the route first, then we can easily predict what line to take in every corner. After that, js try to optimize every corners with good entry and exit speed.
*
yeah, even 2 lane but very sempit one. can easily overshoot into another lane. sweat.gif
and yes, basic skill of 'meleper' is to memorize the route and how the road condition is so that you can prepare yourself to take in brows.gif

he ride Yamaha R1 so no need to say much about the FC tongue.gif

What?? there is a cooling fan behind the radiator? I didnt even know that. Looks like this LC is using some of the technologies from car...
First it is using a liquid cooling system, then it has a fan on its radiator... haha...
Maybe the next version will have a top cover to protect the riders from rain  laugh.gif

hahaha.. that fan only spin during the engine overheat and that was very rare indeed.
I just hope next version will have double cam engine brows.gif

the rear hugger aka mudguard, is it specially designed for LC or you mod it yourself?
AFAIK, it needs some modification to install the rear hugger smile.gif

Guys,

What is the best tyre combination for LC?

Front 80/90 or 90/80?

Rear 100/70, 100/80 or 110/70?

thanks
*
depends on your riding style. if you're cornering kakis / meleper,
wide / low profile tyres such as 110/70 for rear is most suitable.
for me, 80/90 for front is not recommended because your bike will felt heavy sweat.gif

Kalau tayar lama, cepat keras

tayar lama = getah keras = kurang grip nod.gif
tayar baru = getah lembut = grip thumbup.gif

QUOTE(thunderbird @ Nov 21 2008, 04:05 PM)
Gang,

If that the case, what is the best combination of the tyre size?
*
just quote back this post..

QUOTE(charge-n-go @ Nov 21 2008, 01:59 PM)
For normal ride, js keep the front tyre as thin as possible. We only want the driving wheel (rear wheel) to have maximum grip on the road surface, so the power from engine can be transferred to the road efficiently. non-driving wheel adds extra frictional force to counter the acceleration.
*
so from this post, we cam conclude that thin front tyres such as 70/90 and 80/90 is the best. while for rear, low profile like 80/80 and 90/80 (you can try 110/70 if you want brows.gif ) is the most suitable. am I right bro charge-n-go? hmm.gif

QUOTE

a. 80/90: (tayar asal)
lebar = 80, profile = 90

--> tinggi side wall tayar = 90% dari 80 (mm) = 72mm (7.2cm)

guna tayar rim diameter 17" (1 inch = 2.54cm) = 43.18 cm

jadi, diameter keseluruhan* = diameter rim + (tinggi sidewall x 2) = 43.18 + (7.2 x 2) = 57.58cm (D1)

b. 100/80 (tayar baru)
lebar = 100, profile = 80

--> tinggi side wall (dinding tepi) tayar = 80% dari 100 (mm) = 80mm (8cm)

tetap guna tayar rim diameter 17" (1 inch = 2.54cm) = 43.18 cm

jadi, diameter keseluruhan* = diameter rim + (tinggi sidewall x 2) = 43.18 + (8x2) = 59.18cm (D2)
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Apa perubahan yang kita nampak secara matematik?

1. pertambahan tinggi sidewall sebanyak 0.8 cm
2. pertambahan diameter keseluruhan sebanyak 1.6 cm

Pada aplikasi harian, apakah yang berubah?
1. ride height akan bertambah sebanyak 1.6 cm
2. speedometer akan under read (istilah kita kira berat la)

Perkiraan yang diambil adalah dari total diameter;

nope, ATM there's no official 135lc of malaysia. but got small community such as KOM135, LC Crew Kuantan (LCCK), LC Malacca Club (LCMC) and few others. we gather here in LYN just to discuss bout our ride nod.gif

can i ask something?? the 135lc with cluctch that color was blue and white is limited edition???annie wan(anyone) answer me please...

nope, that was the standard color option for ES version. another one is black with red flaming stripes wink.gif
and ATM there's no Limited Edition available even few people claim so. laugh.gif

QUOTE(UncleCheang @ Nov 22 2008, 11:14 AM)
Thanks for the sharing bro. The explanation is very clear and its awesome, though i dont 100% understand all the malay words  blush.gif
So the bottom line is... in order to make your speedometer more "accurate", you'll need to change the front tyre to bigger one, but at the same time you need to sacrifice the pickup, right?  hmm.gif
*
yes, in order to achieve more accuracy in speedometer reading, sportrims (not tyres) for front should be bigger although we cannot claim it will be 100% accurate.
but bigger sportrims = more accurate speedo = but heavy = less pickup.

same case as sprocket setting,
15-37 = top speed flex.gif but pickup sweat.gif
15-41 = pickup thumbup.gif but top speed doh.gif

hope this clear wink.gif

not sure if those accessories were added by the owner, but by judging from both of the bikes,
I think they are standard accessories included with the bikes.
IIANM it's good to know that HLY had facelifted the ES version after a year. rclxms.gif
