I had received the digi next SIM card I bought from digi online store. I did select the new No during the purchase.

Is the card really activated within 1 hour of delivery? I actually wanted to delay the activation since my yoodo plan is yet to finish. Still have 10 plus over days to go.

Besides, is digi actually supporting esim? For prepaid.

Yes. I'm using esim with prepaid.

There is a QR code on the paper. Is it that I can use it to activate as esim?

it does provide basic internet if the line is active with no extra charge
need to walk in for digi esim

Icic. Ok. Thanks ya.

Good that it has free basic internet this is super helpful to avoid accidental incurred charge due to pay per use data.

Not bad. Now there are more than one option to add esim so next time I can have bolehland line no on esim such as digi or yoodo or tune talk or one xox without carrying without iPhones.

No, that's not what that QR code is for.

For my existing number, I had to go to Digi Store to change to eSim. I think for new prepaid sim whether port-in or new number, Digi will tell you to activate the SIM card first and only after that, to go to a Digi Store to change to eSim. Maybe you can check with them.

ic. ok. thanks.

i just received the card today. not sure if it will really automatically be activated by digi within 1 hour after delivery or not.

want to delay the activation becos my current yoodo's plan not yet finished.

just want to try if digi connection ok or not. have not been using digi for more than 10 to 15 years as of now.

trying to find the best unlimited data plan for my monthly usage.
so far i have tried:

1) hotlink - i always like maxis however, i am disappointed that the maxis coverage for my area of activities is really so so . while on the go (driving), also encountered quite some blind spots, youtube streaming tends to stop half-way, or with coverage but i just cannot access the mobile data.

both unlimited 3Mbps plan or without capped speed plan also same.

2) yoodo - so far the best i had tried. using celcom coverage, am on the rm43 unlimited 6Mbps data plan. i can get more than 95% of coverage and access to mobile data at all time. the blind spot i can encounter while on the go is very very limited. thumbs up so far for yoodo.

I have no problem porting out from DiGi except it took 2.5 days to reply back confirmation (probably due to the combo of weekend and festive holiday)

Probably because I already overpaid by 6 months extra or I still have one more number with DiGi, they just simply let me go laugh.gif
*
yoodo is the best. i port out from yoodo to hotlink recently. upon delivery of hotlink sim card, one hour later receive the email from yoodo to confirm that i want to port out. then i clicked to confirm. another 5 hours my no ported already.

Why

The RM40 plan can be considered as all rounder plan
*
The rm40 plan is good especially it comes with unlimited calls. Yoodo has similar but only 100 mins talktime at higher price of rm43. Both offer esim.

But I scared I cannot port out from digi once port in hahaha.

Anyway I need to do the test of digi next prepaid sim (which with me now) to see if my area of activities is good for digi or not. If not, I will probably stick with yoodo which is not bad in terms of coverage and speed since it is on celcom network.

Prepaid have unlimited 6mbps Next 40 plan, wish digi would add similar plan to postpaid too.
*
dun think so...

so far did not see maxis, celcom or digi did it to their postpaid. only u mobile has similar capped speed unlimited plan for postpaid.

anyway, i do not see a reason why anyone should be on postpaid anymore. now rm40 - unlimited data and calls, pretty much u are paying rm40 nett per month without SST.

Thinking to migrate to some prepaid plan in future. Think most other unlimited prepaid plan have fup of 50gb max...
*
Hotlink -50GB
Yoodo - no FUP
Digi - 999GB?
Celcom - ?

Anyway, unless u use them to replace ur home broadband else 50GB is certainly enough for a normal person.

The free 500MB is really free?

Anyone uses the 10Mbps unlimited plan? Sounds interesting for the speed.

Very random

500MB can finish within seconds
*
Indeed. I drove home for 20 mins from city on the way use data to stream YouTube (fhd) finished already.

But I had received a total of 2 x 500GB free so far which my rm20 15GB plan for a month before it expires on 11 august.

I bought this digi sim just purely to try their network coverage to decide which prepaid plan and telco to go for my main line.

I am quite surprised that digi network coverage and speed do improve over years. Previously I started with digi but they have this rm3 per month of unknown charge which I ported out and never use digi before. But comparing to yoodo, it still have some network blind spots for my path from home to workplace. Although only a few overall but I still prefer to have full coverage everywhere than the rest.
I will stick to yoodo for this case.

Interested to try u mobile although I have super bad experience with them. Will see how.

Ic. Good for u. I only need 30GB+ per month for my monthly usage.

My digi sim is going to expire soon (I am using a dummy no ) not my main line.

My main line is on hotlink pantas plan with 365 days validity without any active data pass.

Given my usage I will go with rm20 20GB yoodo plan which I can use for about 20 days before I buy another rm20 20GB so average one month spend rm30 for 30GB. Have not included call minutes which I do not need but if needed can add rm5 for 100 minute for 30 days. Good thing about this is I am using high speed data at all time. Previously I had been using rm43 unlimited 6Mbps with 100 minutes talktime.

So I used my Huawei mifi with a prepaid sim with data pass plan like digi next20 or yoodo now.

If Hotlink does not live up to your expectation? Then what? Reverse MNP your number?

Just buy an off-the-shelf Hotlink number lah to test to your heart's content.
*
hotlink unlimited plan and uncapped speed data i have all tried before. seriously hotlink is not really good at my area comparing to celcom/digi.

still have rm31.xx in my hotlink account with 365 day validity. this is my main line.
planned to use rm30 to buy 20GB data to use and once finished the data, will jump ship.
