typical digi, this plan very complicated

as I understand it, activation of the 365 days validity (which is only for the first year) requires signing up for the insurance

and signing up for the insurance requires signing up for the internet package

I cannot imagine digi would give one year validity for RM8 especially with a 10 sen call rate, though if anyone has actual experience of the plan, I'd be happy to be corrected

as others suggested, digi best 2017 would be the way to go, which unlike abadi includes basic internet too

Even voicemail is off, you should still receive Missed Call Alert sms if your line is not reachable when someone tried to call you.

Don't be confused with Notify Me mentioned in the menu as that is a different service to Missed Call Alert.

Be aware too that sms from Digi may be delayed.

after 24 Jul, unless you reload, you will no longer be able to make calls, send sms or access the internet. you can still receive calls and sms.

your credit will still be intact for 90 days, so when you reload within those 90 days your line will be reactivated and your reload amount added to your existing credit balance.

if you don't reload within 90 days, your line will be terminated and mobile number recycled.

do not reload earlier than necessary because the validity period is not cumulative.

if your credit last long enough, reload on 25 Jul the first day of barring to maximize validity, or use the credit to buy an Always Active subscription on or before 24 Jul

the validity extension starts from the day of reload, so if you reload rm30 today, your expiry date will remain 24 Jul (because 30 days from today gives an earlier date in next month)

I miss the days when 90 days was the standard for all telcos.

50 days like Hotlink applies is just 7 weeks, their forum here is full of users requesting reactivation of expired numbers.

DiGi also gives the termination date in their barring sms, though same as IVR announcement it's not explicitly stated as such. It just says "incoming calls until" and leaves the user to think about what that means.

U Mobile no longer shows even the expiry date in their app once you've passed it. It just shows Expired.

I experienced switching from Best to Live on the last day of validity and also noticed the termination date announced was based on 75 days and not 90 days. I assumed it was just DiGi system lag, though fortunately I reactivated my line early in the grace period.

I'm not sure what you doubt as I am talking from actual experience.

It may not be surprising the sms quoted 75 days because I switched from Best to Live an hour before getting barred. Similar to sometimes you still get barring sms when you top up last minute.

But, after that, I called the IVR helpline a few times in subsequent days and the date was never adjusted to 90 days.

It's likely just a programming issue where the unusual situation, of switching plan just before barring, is not catered for.

I never raised the matter with DiGi - I reloaded before the 75 days and since then the grace period has been the correct 90 days.

DG prepaid cannot be used with zero balance, even you are in your active period, bought a subscription etc already.. so they sometimes do add 01 sen. If MNP at DG center, not only do they give you free sim but also 01 sen credit to get you started 😁.
