Applied Grab MBB Card yesterday midnight and received message that my card is approved. Since i'm a big spender at Grab so i think this card is not bad, usually spent rm100 with my CITI CB and don't know which card to use to top up grab but now i have a choice.

PB visa signature, PB quatum master give 6% and 5% cashback each

My own calculation for GRAB card below
* assume 1,600 grab point = RM10

normal retail RM3 = 1 grab point means about 0.25% (need spend RM4800)
online/oversea RM1 = 2 grab point means about 1.25% (need spend RM800)
grab transaction RM1 = 5 grab point means about 3.1% (need spend RM320)

so not really a very good deal, as specially normal transaction only 0.25%, it will be good if got for grab transaction only
*
Even for grab only I dont see the attractiveness.
There are cards outside which give 5%-6% cashback on reloading grabpay.

Unless there are other benefits. Moreover, the rm25 sst must be paid since MBB doesnt waive

is it reload RM1 got 5 grab point, then spend RM1 in grab ewallet, another 3 grab point. in total 8 grab point per RM spent? it is 0.8 miles yo.
*
For fair comparison, every ringgit reloaded to grab (via card or transfer) also can earn that 3 grab points. So is irrelevant in comparison.

So far I did a little bit of research on this new Grab card, here's what I would consider:

1. If I only hold MBB Amex 2 card (and cancelled the Master/Visa) / AMEX cards, then this card can be alternative for me.
- Due to the fact that there's Maybank Promo for Lazada/Shopee that only accepts Visa/Master.
> The Mastercard that comes with the 2 card is rubbish btw. So I cancelled it and this could be its replacement instead.

2. Actually I find that Grab is quite useful, Speedmart accepts them, many of the merchants (eateries such as Go Noodle, Pan Mee / KFC / Baskin Robbin / etc) that I frequent, and also some online websites (Kaodim / Pet Shop/ etc), therefore earning the points can be a breeze for me as compared to Boost / TnG.
- Boost and TnG each offers their own benefits (Boost coin / Cashback for TnG), and may have better acceptance, but if I were to consider wholesomeness, Grab seems to be all in 1 app for me (include GrabFood / GrabCar).
- Sometimes when I reload my Grab, I need to think which card to reload with, cuz not all has points / cashback, and I don't know whether they will be entitled or not cuz tracking them sometimes is a hassle for me. With this card, I know it will be entitled for points, no need think much.

3. This points can convert into Krisflyer miles, good supplement for my Krisflyer Amex.

4. Using this Grab card, encourages me to use Grab more often, hence maintain platinum tier, which for me is another plus.

Overall, I just see myself use Grab more with this card. By default whenever there's all 3 wallet above present in a store, I mostly go with Grab unless my wallet out of money and I am pressured to pay faster hence no time reload lol.
*
I also prioritise using grab because the points can be used for payments. Moreover, there are merchants which give 20x points.

Having said that, just want to let you know that there are credit cards out there confirmed to get cashback up to 5-6% and no minimum spending.

1) which merchant give 20x?
2) which credit card give 5-6% no minimum spending?
Groccery? Or purely online have?
*
1) Used to have some like coffee bean but could've revised lower. I've accumulated more than 60k points before the devaluation.

2) PB quantum master 5%, PB visa signature 6% on online. No min spending.
Ambank true visa 3% (slight less than effective rate of grabpoints of 3.125%)
Those with restriction on category spending - Citi cashback 10%, Hsbc Mpower - 8%

I have question about the Maybank X Grab, can my wife bind my credit card with her grab account to enjoy the benefit?
*
If i recall, phone number tagged to the card must be same as phone number registered for grab

5x Grab points for both type of Grab transactions (GrabPay topup & payment to in-app Grab services)
*
Just curious, doesnt it mean reload to grabpay and use is better becasue

Use card to topup grabpay = 5x + spend from grabpay = 3x
Link card = 5x
