Should be able to. One reason why iPhone 6s can have still have iOS 14 is due to the 2GB ram. IPhone 6 or 6 plus only got 1GB ram. The extra 1GB ram actually makes the iPhone 6s and SE still run quite snappily now.

considered light upgrade this year. Maybe I will still update my iPhone X to it. Initially tot of stopping it at iOS 13 since I will finally change my iPhone this year after 3 years.

I kept my iPhone 7 Plus around because there is no reason to upgrade. Not into the camera either because already have a Note 10 Plus. Come to worse, might opt for the new iPhone SE. I hate phones with notch be it Android or iPhone. Very irritating.

As long as the older phones don’t slow down after the iOS update, then it should be fine. Else, all hell will break loose...

I don’t think Apple dares to throttle battery performance anymore, they have learned from the backlash, hahaha...

last time i was using the beta. then i follow the instruction to revert back to normal version. ended got problem and my data was lost. will never try again.

Usually most guide would tell u to select restore iPhone, but sometimes u can select shift+ check for updates in iTunes to downgrade without data lost

Still don’t recommend installing early beta too, if want to install early, probably like at least beta 4 for iOS 14, got some apps/ glitches here and there but still tolerable for me

iphone 11 pro max 64gb.

the system+others are around 20gb. my apps and games around 20gb++ give or take. did clear the old apps that i hoarded and i got back around 10gb. well we'll see the next update if it cleared my space.

Just watched the keynote last night (yeah, I’m late to the party). Am surprised there are no Android enthusiasts here giving Apple hell for what seems like a copy job on the home screen widgets, picture in picture, and app drawer, err, library

One thing I can say is even the things are the same. The way of implementation and user experience are totally different. Apple may not be the first mover, but when they release, it will be already perfect.

Looking at how Apple implements Face ID vs the ‘picture’ ID by competitors.

Yeah, no doubt Apple’s implementation will be more refined as they have full control over the hardware and software but we’ll have to wait and see, I guess. One thing for sure is now there will be less complaints on being unable to customise your home screen on iPhones, hahaha...

Haha. Seriously as a long time iphone users, we are getting used to use what we are given. If Apple does not give, also no one will really complain.

When now we are given all the ‘new’ things, they are bonuses instead. Haha.

Not sure if anyone has seen this.
A UI designer Jay Machalani made this iOS 8 concept back in 2014.

It took Apple 6 years to implement it.

Split screen on phones is just a gimmick in my opinion. Not sure about the implementation of it in Android, but there is just not enough screen estate to have a good experience on phones.

Imagine you have two apps open (let's say side by side in landscape mode). Then when you need to type something, the keyboard will pop out taking up almost half the screen. You are left with about 25% screen for each app. It would already be cramped on the 6.5 inch iPhone 11 Pro Max, how about the 4.7 inch iPhone SE?

Picture-in-picture mode which is coming in iOS 14 is far more useful.

The tap on the back is cool

used it a couple of times then i noticed its not suitable for me. I imagine playing COD mobile and then accidentally tapped my back then some function came out then i'll be pissed about it.

but got to say quite a handy gesture to be honest.

ya, i have notice this back tap feature is something im excited on, but not sure about the usability, like accidentally trigger the tap back without my intention and battery consumption of this feature

Been almost 24 hours running iOS14 - I must say, the beta is very smooth and haven’t encountered any issue so far. I’m using it on my main phone btw.

Hello, have you tried the back tap feature? How was it? As in the sensitivity of activating the back tap function on purpose.

Gentle reminder, if you are on iOS 14 and somehow need to downgrade, you will not be able to restore a backup from a beta firmware to iOS 13.

So please make sure the existence of a second backup file.

All is good for iOS14 except for battery life which sucks a bit, can't wait for the official beta! 😁

Yes I did, I turned it off thou. Kept getting unregistered taps when placing my phone on the table. It works with a casing as well, but need to tap harder.

Weather widget is having higher background activity and higher battery drain for me though :S

been using it for about a week now. battery life is decent. last me one and the half days.

never experience crashing. stability is good.

But one thing that bugs me the most is i experience a weird bug where my space showed lower than usual but will get more free space if i make use of the space. just like today, i recorded a video (1080 60fps) for about 30 secs, the free space suddenly becomes more than last time. before on ios 13.5, my free space is around 20gb but after updating to ios 14, it went down to just only 2gb. cleared and uninstalling most of my games, clear my whatsapp chat and i got back my 5gb.

but today suddenly its up another 5gb.

How’s the customisation of the Home screen experience? Does it look and feel better than the iOS of old?

Limited to 2x2 tiles.

Its either left, right or centre.

Oh so the widgets can be placed at the centre as well? So far from photos I have only seen them on the left or right.

Curious too. The demos I've seen are all either left or right..

the smartstack widget can be placed at the top, center and below.
for the short widget, from top, left and right, middle left and right, for bottom, left and right.

the large widget can fill like 2/3 of ur screen so u can place it up or down.

for now im using smart stack+ with small widget (smart stack for weather and calendar and small widget for battery indicator.

as for the looks... well i guess its the same as the old ones but with widget lah. looks a bit fresh from normal ones la but nothing to shout about i guess

smart stack seems useful, even the current iOS widget page unable to do so
