QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 14 2022, 08:20 PM) I can't comment much as the ALLO I installed is for my in-laws house in Ipoh That's weird, I've no issue with watching Netflix using my SmartTV which runs instantly as my WiFi network is on AX and 500mbps packageThey only use the internet to watch TV (Netflix, Disney+ & UniFi TV) I only used it for 2 days to remote into my office using AnyDesk, seems as good as UniFi Didn't test it for gaming Although I do see some sluggishness when loading Netflix. All shows & movies in Netflix always starts at a very low resolution like 360p before getting UHD resolution Unlike with UniFi, I immediately get UHD resolution from the beginning |

Just called their hotline to verify my payment status. It turns out they having billing payment issue for those customer using JomPay and it should be reflected by September. August month I’m still using existing Reference ID1 to pay and not aware they have change to new Reference ID beginning August. Customer care representative told me the older Ref ID is still valid under their system. Cincai.La liked this post

QUOTE(John Chaser @ Jun 1 2024, 08:48 PM) Has anyone here applied for the "Xtra Vaganza Triple the Speed for 100Mbps and Xtra Vaganza Double the Speed for 500Mbps " ? Yes I’m currently using it. Rm 99 300mbps for 24 months contract then it will auto drop back to 100mbps @ RM 99. They provide Az-Tech AX1800 WiFi6 or TP-Link AX20 AX1800 WiFi6. Rm99 get 300Mbps while Rm139 gets 1Gbps. Both for 24 months. https://www.citybroadband.my/residential/ [attachmentid=11496545] While RM 139 gets 1Gbps 24 months contract then revert back to 500mbps speed @ RM 139. They provide 2 unit AX1800 mesh WiFi6. ALLO is using PPPoE authentication and no longer using Dyanmic IP as previously does. Moogle Stiltzkin liked this post

QUOTE(John Chaser @ Jun 3 2024, 09:17 PM) Are you able to max out your download to 1Gbps on gaming clients like STEAM, EPIC STORE, EA APP, etc. ? Sometime it depends on steam server. Good times I able to get 500mbps download speed (still using 500mbps package) Moogle Stiltzkin and John Chaser liked this post

QUOTE(faizyunus @ Jun 20 2024, 12:44 PM) After 24 months, they will revert back to the original speed and maintain its price. By that time probably you can checkout their latest offer. RM 99 originally speed is 100MBps and RM 139 originally speed is 500MBps. Moogle Stiltzkin liked this post

QUOTE(cyberic @ Oct 31 2025, 03:54 PM) Not even trying to give router with 2.5G port for 1Gb plan? Cause Allo maximum package speed is 1Gbps in which really don’t need 2.5Gbps ONT unit. I’ve tested Unifi 2Gbps package and they gave Skyworth AX3000 ONT + Router AX3000. During speedtest only able to pull 1Gbps at best but internal GUI tested 2Gbps. Had to get Asus TUF AX6000 to pull around 1.8Gbps. Current users.... How is the internet service? QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Oct 31 2025, 08:56 PM) I was damn pissed because of the multiple installation attemps and endless issues You really need to call Allo hotline to complain very low upload speed. Unacceptable. Not going to blame the installer, but their infra 1st, not able to provide the promised speed 2nd, even the installer warned the provided router will only be able to push around 500Mbps wirelessly I'm using my own gears that are perfectly capable of handling this speed, but seeing them cutting corners on their FASTEST plan is just downright... 3rd, not giving me a proper headsup before sending someone here to do the installation Imagine he went through the installation with my parents that are not tech savvy, and I ended up getting 1000/100 instead of the promised 1000/500 I'm paying the full RM139, I'd expect them to give me the full promised speed Yeah, glad I didnt terminate Unifi Even if the installation managed to be completed, I will keep Unifi as a failover |

QUOTE(cyberic @ Nov 1 2025, 06:56 PM) With 2.5G ports we can get full speed 1xxx Mbps speed vs 930 Mbps on wired connection. That's the little bottleneck there between you and the internet 😄 Is the Huawei ONT modem culprit that bottleneck hence ALLO doesn’t have any package beyond 1Gbps. Nothing much to complain about. 930mbps is too good for me.This post has been edited by jimmylim85: Nov 2 2025, 10:05 AM |

QUOTE(kwss @ Nov 1 2025, 05:13 PM) Actually what's so difficult with speed problem? A few times I’ve called allo hotline about my internet downtime, funny thing they able to reset my port remotely and get my internet up n running. They already fixed the fiber, so I assume reading all okay. Or maybe they don't know how to repair fiber also? You can get 1gig download but only 100meg upload. Check the profile in OLT manager. If okay, check the profile in RADIUS. That's all. This kind of problem TM can fix with just a phone call by the technician. Like that need to ding dong for so long meh? Says a lot about their skills. |

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Nov 2 2025, 10:24 AM) The emailed and SMS-ed me early morning today He’s on an older 1Gbps package which is 1000/1000 1:1 ratio. Gone are those days as Allo right now provide 1:1 ratio till 500mbps package only. Some 1Gbps still able to request 1:1 ratio with reasonable excuse. I heard from allo technician whereby one of the customer is a cartoon creator requested 1:1 ratio on their 1Gbps for video upload speed. First time since registered for the installation I've received a proper notice from them telling me the installation time For the previous 3 attempts, I was only contacted by the installer either a day or few hours before the installation I was told by Anime4000 (the person who developed and deployed ONU stick) that Allo has a very strict cap on the speed Even with 2.5G pon, you will never get anything extra credits to lwk523, he is on Allo 1Gbps plan with GPON stick ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Nov 2 2025, 03:44 PM) For me, 500Mbps upload is enough Actually 500mbps is enough for my day to day usage including steam game updates. Just that I’ve been using 500mbps since 2021, only this year they finally sent an email offering me 1Gbps for 139 in a 12 months contract with one Dlink router. As my another premises is using 300mbps package for 99 then 6 months later they offer free upgrade to 500mbps for 99 for life time. The only reason for me to take 1Gbps is because of the promotion, since you can get double the download speed for the price of 500Mbps Do I need 1Gbps? No But it is nice to have However...at the moment they cant even give me a working internet Hope their team is able to get everything working tomorrow Oh one more thing, mine doesnt seems to have IPV6 Is this the same for everyone? |

QUOTE(QuantumEdge @ Nov 2 2025, 06:47 PM) No IPV6 available. Tested and turns out no support. Maybe due to budget issue?Mine is PPPoE, previously is DHCP that’s why Allo technician had to come to my house to setup my existing ONU to work. |
