Those who revised/renewed/registered after City broadband rebranded (or maybe earlier, im not very sure) to Allo Fibre, your account will changed Allo Fibre and using PPPOE.
This Jan, i was allowed to free "upgrade" 300m to 500m, but i feel very weird Allo technician must to come over my house to "setting" my modem/router. I rejected this and filed MCMC report and finally Allo upgraded my plan "remotely" and maintained my plan as "IPOE" 500m.

Good catch. Noticed my bill still says City Broadband which explains why I'm still on IPOE. Will take note of this if they offer any free upgrade once my contract is up later this month.

Also noticed the old City Broadband, they offered symmetric 1Gbps plan. Now after the Allo rebrand, their 1Gbps plan is not longer symmetric with just 500Mbps upload.

First time knowing that Allo also use Nokia ONU thought that they always use HUAWEI ones cause I like how compact and small it is. Now I have one spare Huawei ONU as backup.
Unifi have been around close to 20 years I assume most main internal fiber cable starts to degrade while Allo roughly 6-7 years old, fiber cable still being fresh.

I guess it depends on area like my place they use Calix Modem which is also small and compact.

So now even public IP is using PPPOE? I thought it was using IPOE.

I assume those on the legacy City Broadband use IPOE for their public IP while the new rebranded Allo Fibre users are on PPPOE. Like my one is IPOE.

Ah, should be the same ONU as mine then
Remember to ask for the OLT credentials lol
This thing is so locked down you cant fetch any info from it

I see. Currently on public IP using IPOE. Will I be forced to switch to PPPOE on my router with this new ONU or can still use IPOE?

Also how's the performance of this new Nokia ONU?
