QUOTE(potatoespotate @ Jun 15 2020, 04:14 PM) thing is, they boleh pakai or not? My bro works in IT industry and have had new staff coming in but bodoh sial, code cacat AF. He surprised they can graduate at all (actually he also surprised that some of his coursemates could even graduate with an IT degree given how badly they performed in their group assignments, he honestly feels like quite a few actually graduated without being able to code properly). This why Malaysia I feel so many apps/webpage, UI not user friendly or just cacat as shit. so much bloody problems. Just need to regulate the talents coming in, I am okay with talent coming in if the local talent cannot meet the requirements by the companies, do something like UK la, make employer apply for the special visa and have restrictions on their salary thresholds. India fresh grad also not that wonderful. Worked with few of them before, can't really say impressed. For Malaysia talents, must know where to look. Things like going to form 6, coming from sjk ©, college exposure can help identify good candidates.

Like my colleague said, the good one already went to USA. Only the bad one come to Malaysia. ๐๐๐
Worked with some before, some are good. But some really bad... act/talk if they know everything, but in reality they sucks. And they must have tea break at 3pm. (I believe this is not our culture, afaik)

The thing with indian IT is they willing to start from low with very low pay. That is why they get all the low cost outsourcing contracts and opportunities. Then, they gained experience and is able to compete for positions that required more experience
Our fresh grad here willing to take a rm1.5k job? They will never get the experience required if they are jobless while waiting for a 3k offer but rm1.5k really hard to survive in kl without living with parents because starbucks and city is a necessity

QUOTE(Unstability @ Jun 15 2020, 03:50 PM) Besides stopping inflow of Rohingyas/Bangladesh/other foreigners into Malaysia, I suggest we also stop India Indian inflow for IT /engineering jobs well. What say u? Good idea? If India company like Tata want to open in Malaysia, can, but whole Malaysia team must be Malaysians. Good idea? They are already here as TCS. Worked in a project together with them before for an IT project in one govt agency. Part paling best bila our local Indian bertekat dengan dia orang.

Many benefits by bringing in foreign companies. Technology transfer and increase our competitiveness. They can also contribute tax to gov coffers.
But protectionism is more important I guess. Even though I disagree

QUOTE(sheeva86 @ Jun 15 2020, 04:02 PM) Even Microsoft, Google rely on Indian workforce Hmmm have you worked with expat Indian in local IT scene? Even had the chance to work with those employed by partners located overseas. Basically clueless. Talk so much but no point, just round and round egg-first-or-chicken-first kind of "discussion". If given choice, I won't. Not anymore.

This as well. Simple things also taichi because "not my department" and end up have to go to CCB because suddenly they need to discuss which department should be authorised to handle it.
