What are your inexpensive options when brown switches, even with O-rings, are still too loud for your liking?

Lubrication isn't cheap. Neither are specific silent/quiet switches. Especially so, when you are opting for a keyboard from the budget end of the scale like a Tecware Phantom or a Cooler Master CK350/CK550, and the value of doing so isn't there.

I know some people mention soft pads, but is that even available in Malaysia?

Unless your o rings are too thin, you are not looking at switch noise anymore IMO.

You might want to look into the acoustics of the case you are using. Maybe it is too hollow and would benefit to have some foam in it. And foam between PCB and plate is an awesome mod if you have the patience and dedication.

Where would you suggest I go look for thicker o-rings, preferably ones that are more translucent as well since the ones I have seem to somewhat mute the LED emanating from the keycaps as well? And also the foam. I know what they look like from Youtube, etc, but I don't see them on Lazada/Shopee.

Thanks.

I've bought o-rings that were not advertised for MKBs before that were too thin and did almost nothing for the feel/sound. If you bought something like this you should be fine.

Yes, my batch of O-rings weren't specifically for keyboards. They were from an AV equipment shop in Jalan Pasar in Pudu. I guess I should measure the dimensions and see if that was the problem.

Don't know about the transparency, I've never used them with any keyboard that had LEDs.

You can check the previous thread, pages 107-109, for my adventures in foaming.

Looks like you MacGyver-ed yours. I was looking for something like a China-brand of EliteKeyboard's Landing Pads.

Thanks again.
