Well there is none Telco atm offer real unlimited plan. All come with FUP to prevent people from abusing it. In sense of marketing point of view, the wording unlimited is falsely used to confuse people. Like me, many were tricked that HUP35 is unlimited. Well maybe 50gb is just not enough for most of us. If hotlink can consider 150gb for its FUP, I guess perhaps the oppose voice of being cheated might not so strong.....
*
.
Afaik;

TM Unifi Mobile prepaid Bebas Weekly RM20 phone pass is truly unlimited Internet, even for its hotspot data, ie there is no FUP limit, even though speed is capped at 8 to 10Mbps. TM Unifi Air postpaid 4G modem plan is truly unlimited Internet, with speed capped at 20Mbps. Same for TM Unifi Fiber plans at 30Mbps, 100Mbps, 300Mbps and 500Mbps.
....... Digi Infinite 150 postpaid phone plan can be considered as truly unlimited Internet because its FUP limit is at a high 1TB per month and throttled speed is 5Mbps(not 0.5Mbps).

So, it is fake marketing for Maxis to advertise its HUP35/45 as "Truly Unlimited Internet", which plan has a measly 50GB per month FUP limit at 3Mbps or 6Mbps and throttled to 0.5mbps. 0.5Mbps =/= truly unlimited data Internet.

It says Unlimited "Internet" ... not Unlimited "Data per month"... so, from my POV, there's nothing wrong with that "tactics"...

I'm awaiting for other telco(s) to use tactics "Truly Unlimited DL/UL Data PER MONTH"... who dare to do this...? So far as per TnC inside CUP35, it is unlimited DATA per month becoz it is the Subscribers who "set" the DATA per MONTH.. very vague indeed... well, we can monitor our daily/monthly HEAVIEST usages and see whether they really above the volume allocation as mentioned in their TnC:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Conclusion:
HUP35 = 50GB @ 3Mbps
CUP35 = varies @ varies speed (very-very-very vague and hiding behind their infamous "best effort basis"
*
.
Truly Unlimited Internet can either refer to unlimited Internet data or unlimited Internet speed, ie it cannot be referring to unlimited Internet ping. Maxis is not referring to unlimited Internet speed when it advertised its HUP35 at 3Mbps and HUP45 at 6Mbps limited speeds. By the process of elimination, Maxis could only be referring to unlimited Internet data when it advertised "Truly Unlimited Internet".

If location and 4G coverage are about the same for UMobile, Maxis and Celcom, UMobile's GX38 should be the outright overall winner in this celco war for low-end/affordable "unlimited" data prepaid phone plan subscribers. Maxis HUP35/45 should be the outright overall loser.

Why compare non-phone-plan features like cash-backs, KFC free gifts, rebates, etc which are not permanent features of the above phone plans.? These offers from external affiliated companies, eg e-Wallet companies, can disappear or they often come-and-go.
....... So, it's more important for interested subscribers to check their locations' 4G coverage map and preferably carry out a prior test of the celco's 4G signal strength by buying the Starter Pack that costs about RM10 or ask a friend using the celco service to come to your location to do the test.

Can someone clarify Gx30 quota Is unlimited? Or is unlimited data with throttled speed after certain quota? Plan to get Gx30 for online studies n zoom most of the time. 1 month use about 200gb.

Afaik;

The prepaid GX30 phone plan has a normal FUP limit of 100GB per month = throttled to 0.5Mbps thereafter. Normal music/video-streaming is capped at SD/480p/1Mbps. All other Internet usage is at 6Mbps, eg downloading and updating of apps.

Video-calls are not free. So, I'm not sure whether Zoom live video-conferencing calls are free and not capped at SD/480p.

I'm on postpaid GX50 but has not used Zoom before.

Tq for clarify. 100gb not so suit me for it. How bout gx50? What is the diff with gx58 too?

Same normal FUP limit and music/video-streaming cap.
....... Prepaid GX30 = 6Mbps/6GB hotspot data ; GX50 = 5Mbps/5GB hotspot ; GX68 = unlimited speed/5GB hotspot.

You should have a look at postpaid Digi Infinite 100 = 10Mbps/20GB hotspot data ; FUP limit should be about 500GB of data per month ; no music/video-streaming cap ; ...
and Digi Infinite 150 = unlimited speed, data and hotspot ; FUP limit is 1TB of data per month, thereafter throttled to 5Mbps.

Also Celcom Mega phone plans with unlimited data and/or unlimited speed Addons = total costs about RM98 to RM148. Not sure about the FUP limit.

If is not for the current Covid19 situation, 100gb can serve the monthly need. But now vid conferencing seems like daily need for students and even everyone now... 100gb is not enough for sure...
*
.
Yes, you should also check the upload speed for uploading Live video-calls on Zoom and Live video-broadcasts on FB Live or live-streaming/ roadcasting your online games.
.
These affordable or low-end "unlimited" data 4G phone plans nearly always have a catch, especially in FUP limits. Maxis HUP35/45 have an FUP limit of 50GB of data per month - Celcom's CUP35/XUP35 should have the same FUP limit = cannot be used by heavy-data users of >100GB per month.

Likely, the celcos are paying the TM HSBB Fiber monopoly about RM13 per 100GB of data because 4G Internet data need to go through TM HSBB Fiber network for onward connection to the world wide web or www. Hence celco's affordable "unlimited" data 4G phone plans that cost around RM30 per month. If the FUP limit is set to 200GB per month for such plans = celcos lose money.

FYI T-Mobile in the US explaining why their "unlimited" plans may be throttled at 50GB:

https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/mydatausage
*
.
That common explanation by celcos is likely not true. Mobile broadband network congestion can be "easily" solved by erecting more cell towers in a congested area or by limiting the number of subscribers in an area.
....... How come TM Unifi Home Fiber, Unifi Air 4G modem plan and Unifi Mobile prepaid 4G Bebas Weekly can give truly unlimited data to its millions of subscribers, ie there are no monthly FUP limits and subsequent throttling.?

Nearly all celcos in Malaysia have to pay the monopoly TM HSBB Fiber company wholesale prices of about RM13 per 100GB for Internet data, ie in order for their 4G/3G subscribers to connect to the world wide web or www in the background, ie through TM HSBB Fiber network. This is the main reason nearly all celcos impose monthly FUP limits. The other reason is to maximize profits by overselling 4G plans to subscribers and declining to erect more cell towers in congested areas.

Which mean cost per 1 GB is RM0.13 ?
50 GB FUP = Rm6.5
*
.
Example;

When Maxis HUP35 (= RM30 per month) subscribers haved used up 50GB of data, they will be throttled to 0.5Mbps for the rest of the month. At 0.5Mbps, the subscribers can still use about another 40GB to 190GB of data by doing a lot of video-streaming at 240p on their phones.

The celcos make less money from heavy-data-users, even by imposing monthly FUP limits.

I still don't understand what you mean.
*
.
Let's say a Maxis HUP35 subscriber used 50GB of data on the 1st day by streaming videos at 1080p/3Mbps(= uses about 3GB per hour) for about 17 hours non-stop. For the next 29 days, he will be throttled by Maxis from 3Mbps to 0.5Mbps or 512kbps.

At 0.5Mbps, he can still stream videos at 240p = uses about 200MB per hour. Let's say, he again stream videos at 240p for 15 hours a day = 3GB per day = 87GB for 29 days.

So, total data used by him for 30 days is 50 + 87 = 137GB = the subscriber's heavy-data-use costs Maxis about RM18 in wholesale price that has to be paid to the monopoly TM HSBB Fiber company.

I still can watch 606p dramas like normal.

10Mbps download speed? I think new GX50 speed is 10Mbps (×2 on 5Mbps) now after U Mobile revamped its GX unlimited data plans.
*
.
www.speedtest.net shows my maximum attainable d/l speed of about 10Mbps = not the 5Mbps speed given by UMobile's GX50 phone plan. In realtime monitoring with the Internet Speed Meter Lite app, my GX50 gives maximum 5Mbps most of the time but can occasionally reach up to 8Mbps during downloading of files and video-streaming.

Throttled to 0.23Mbps = 256kbps.? = half of 512kbps, ie the Maxis HUP35 throttled speed.
.
Please confirm that your GX38/6Mbps is still being throttled now.?

If so, it means UMobile has reimposed and lowered its monthly FUP limit from 100GB to 80GB for its affordable "unlimited" data GX phone plans, of which GX30 and GX38 has recently been given double the speed/6Mbps and hotspot/6GB, ... in order to limit the amount of data used by heavy-users.

This is exactly abuse of U Mobile network and already violate their terms and conditions.

So not just U Mobile only, I believe CELCOM also will throttle down his speed.
*
.
If confirmed to be true, other GX38 users who may also use > 80GB of data in 2 days should be made aware that UMobile will throttle them.

If true, wonder if those who use about 4GB daily(= 80GB in 20 days) will also be throttled by UMobile on the 21st day till the 30th day.

If he is using like that, I believe all the telcos will throttle his speed unless he subscribes to the premium unlimited data plans with the price of RM150 and above.

.
I think 83.6GB in 2 days is not azhar75's normal usage of his Internet. He was just quickly testing out the monthly FUP limit of the new GX38 plan vs his other Celcom XUP35 which likely has a monthly FUP limit of at least 100GB but it is a limited time offer only = XUP35 may be gone after 2 or 3 months.

If azhar75 is still being throttled by UMobile, this means the monthly FUP limit of his GX38 plan is very likely 80GB, which is still much better than Maxis HUP35's monthly FUP limit of 50GB.

Maybe you can later report to us the monthly FUP limit for your GX30 plan during normal usage of 2GB to 4GB per day, ie using up 80GB near the end of your 30-days pass/addon. Also the throttled speed. I will try to do the same for my GX50 plan - end of my monthly billing period is 7 July 2020.

True unlimited data prepaid plans without FUP likely can only come from TM Unifi Mobile or its sister company Celcom because of the TM HSBB Fiber network monopoly, eg similar to the TM Unifi Home Fiber plans. Looks like we may not need to test whether UMobile's monthly FUP limit is 80GB for GX plans since azhar75 latest post above about him legally abusing data shows that it is not 80GB and he was not throttled by UMobile at > 80GB data usage because he could use another 29GB of data on the 3rd day.

So azhar75 had likely pancut awal and posted "fake news" about UMobile GX38 having a monthly FUP limit of 80GB. If so, of course he would give excuses for his "fake news". MCMC.?

Yes, we should continue with our normal tests of using about 3GB of data daily to accummulate >80GB per month.

Can slighly explain how much it cost for 1 gb from each telco except Telekom?

Why telekom fiber broadband so nice can give unlimited broadband and still profit nonstop? People can easily downloaded 1000GB or more using home broadband. But prepaid you said maybe after 80 or 100Gb will reduce speed?

Fiber normally I see connected from wired from tiang tjere, Prepaid through Air.
*
.
Example;
.
https://www.malaysiainternet.my/2018/08/max...s-subscription/ - Maxis has to pay RM88.50 to TM for each 30Mbps subscription? - 24 Aug 2018

So, for HUP35/3Mbps, Maxis may be paying a wholesale price of about RM10 per month to TM HSBB Fiber, irrespective of the amount of data used in GB.
....... But to ensure equal or fair access of its 4G network to all its HUP35 subscribers, Maxis imposes daily/weekly/monthly FUP limits of 5GB/15GB/50GB and subsequent throttled speed of 0.5Mbps.
