I've played online through direct IP via hamachi for FIFA08 with brot, but seems to encounter this problem whereby my controls for my logitech rumblepad is stucked to default mode and whatever changes that i've made to the controls on the FIFA08 options, it doesn't apply! Strange!

LOL...
I have exactly the same problem. Even after I disable all those bloatware like superfetch, defender, firewall etc, FIFA08 still unplayable in Vista. Menu lag, gameplay also lag like shit. In fact Im so mad that I went ahead and reinstall XP on my laptop. Guess what, now I can run at highest setting at 1280x720 with no lag in menu and gameplay. This is saying VISTA SUCKS!

works fine on my winxp, x800gto2, 1gb ram. I played at 1024x768 with max details. Wonder why I can't select 1280x800 for my widescreen.

Anyway, I want to complain about it's graphics. The graphics is so bad. Texture is low quality and animation is stiff. This has got to be one of the worst fifa in the series. They spend too much time on the league, management and so on until graphics become worst than PES.
