I'm writing this Post to warn you guys

If you get HACKED be very careful and NOT REPORT IT.

I have 2 characters in my wow Account......

Southfurious - Shaman Resto 70
Supercheater - Paladin Prot 48

I was hacked i lost everything, 1 of my character Naked and my shaman with its pvp armor still on...he couldnt sell pvp armors

I reported to Blizzard in hope for help.

I recovered my account with the password retrieval.

Asked my bro to help me out with getting some new equipment to regain what i lost.

3 days it was ok with some new green equipment.

Then it happen today. Received an email saying i exploited WOW economy...HOW??

Policy Chapter 5 part C (correct me if i was wrong here)
but thats the nick name policy....but it doesn't say they will close account for nick but only mention that they will suspend account for 2-3 months.

Here i ask our malaysian wow players to not report to blizzard anything cause i think this is a racial thing since everything they accuse me of something i did not do.

I don't think i will regain my account back. I considered the time i played wow for 3 years to be a wasted.

In the time i was playing wow i wasn't happy that they do not have ingame GMs....slow services and lousy investigators (which has happen to me)

imo, the guy who hacked ur account exploiting wow economy.

he login, sells everything, then do something which exploiting wow economy, then log out. three days later, ur account getting 'charged' of his exploits.

Isn't it stupid.....It only means the GM's aren't doing proper investigation

So many botters farmers and they get suspension.

and i who was just playing and a VICTIM got banned...

u can just re-submit it again and they can check it for you. It happened to me b4. It was a painfully long wait to recover but what to do. =[

I don't know how did it happened, but when I got hacked(TRUE STORY, ask Quazacolt) a few months ago. I did report to the GM once I got hold of my account again. I got back all my gold and equipment VIA mailbox.

So please don't DISCOURAGE other victims to REPORT.

Well at least don't report it in this server.....

I'm just giving a warning that it did happen to me...

I was like you i reported it like you did..
Only i guess this GM really is an idiot and felt i was doing something wrong.

i think you can get back ur account. i was hacked b4 too. i send a ticket to gm and they got back to me and it took 1 week plus to restore everything.

about 2 weeks later... i got this

man i was cursing like mad after reading this... lol!

then i write a letter to them asking why they banned my account for, telling them i dont understand what their "behavior contrary to the "essence" of World of Warcraft" meant. and asked if they can tell me what i have actually done that was so serious enought to make my account got banned. i even say if it was my mistake, i bet i did it accidently and shud at least give me a warning instead of banning instantly. (and promised if it was my fault, i wont repeat it) and reminded them that my account got hacked and maybe it was that hacker's fault.

2 days later they restore my account without explaining why they banned my account, just give some crap auto message saying "Please be sure to scan the computer system you are using to remove all Trojan files, and key loggers viruses" i dun even bother to ask why anymore cuz getting back my account is the most important thing in the world at that moment. but i replied, "THANKS A LOT!!! *cheer* I love you! god bless you!"

haha... just fight back for ur account, but dun fight like wanna argue with them, do it politely, you'll eventually get back ur account. like u said... 3yrs of ur life there (it was 1yr to me that time) i feel like jumping off my window n just die when i got banned... hahahah! just feel like only... not seriously la. but i was in tears when explaining my friend who played it too. it was so sad... like telling me im gonna die soon... yeah yeah.. i have no life

i got hacked and even forget my secret password to retrieve back my password as the hacker change my password too.i lost all my golds only and after retrieving back the account which is was frozen nothing happen to me and i still can play.but didnt get my gold cuz they say i share my login and password with someone.

wat i do is call up blizzard and ask them directly,did u did that too?

I doubt there is any racist thing here.

Just do necessary steps, call in and such. I am sure Blizzard will get back your account if you have done nothing wrong.

have a friend who went through that scenario. account hacked into. contact GM. 2 week investigation. items returned was wrong, belong to a priest. another GM contact. got it back. 1 week later, account is ban for the same reason as above. he wrote back to them requesting that they re-instate his account, detailing the measures he had taken i.e. virus scanning, windows updates, etc. a few days later, one of their Supervisors contacted him back and apologises to him and account is reinstate.

i saw the letter he wrote where he reasons things out. and mind you, he demanded an apology from them. and surprisingly, it did come out.

but that's not for all cases as it would depend on your luck on the person you get and depending if the way you write that email.

ending of the story, the hacker made another attempt to get the account. at the same time, my friend just happened to be checeking his Account Management at work and saw his login status. friend quickly changed his account password and informed Blizz. friend also reformatted his harddisk and laptop. after that reformat, no more problems.

to topic: blizzard isnt perfect, they never are. but when they are compared to everyone else, id prefer them anytime anyday. at least for now.

u can either e-mail blizzard and tell em what happened OR u can just call in. a friend of mine decided to call them instead. account was unbanned after a week of investigation.

Same experience as you dood. And I didnt report it as well. Same email and shit. Basically what you need to do is now report it and they will unlock it ONLY after you FAX in photo id (passport or IC) which states you are the account owner. After getting back your account, then you will need to work with the character restoration specialist to get back your lost items (minus enchants and gems) since they cannot restore that.

That email is a standard template so not to worry about the big words used. Basically blizzard is doing a good job on clamping down gold farmers if they can detect that my account was involved without me even reporting that it was hacked into.

Thanks for advice... i have written them an email and filled their webform as suggested in the their FAQ about this matter..will see what they reply.

If nothing happens i will call in. And fax them whatever they want

they can be slow. i.e. more than 2 weeks. ringing them may be slightly faster. get an iTalk card and call them that way.

Same reply to anyone who got hacked. We will be accused of exploiting WoW economy but then just ignore that sentence since i think its their job to reply in this manner or its just some automated reply

I was cursing when i got that too but then Blizzard restored my account in the end with a few extra super health and mana pots as well as some extra rare gems lol

It took 1 month to recover my account and yes if you can fax them do so because my friend fax to them before and his account was restored at a much faster rate but make sure you provide relevant details

Well my boyfriend's account was hacked about a month back. We reported it immediately. About a week later, he got back his items through the mail. But as he stored most of his gold on his AH toon, for some reason the gold was not restored. Reported again. About a couple of days later, while he was playing on his main, he suddenly saw his AH toon came online (he put his AH toon's name in his FL). Imagine our surprise! The AH toon went offline after a couple of minutes and we logged into it and voila! Gold restored smile.gif

And this happened in THAURISSAN server so.
