Add netflix to the list of throttle app. I test and test since yesterday, confirm netflix have also added to the list.

Terminate the plan today and went with digi.

If they did not throttle netflix i would have stay but throttle netflix to 500kb is just ridiculous.
*
I believe it's not only netflix, all of the video streaming websites/apps are getting throttled to 512kbps after 300gb usage.
I have tried Digi but Digi network is the worst telco among all for my exact location, could be too far away from the towers.

QUOTE(flagstar @ Aug 14 2020, 04:12 AM)
I just subscribe for this plan because maxis has the good coverage in my (non-fibre) area compared to other telcos and provide unlimited(?) data to use. After hearing it throttle to 512kbps, I had no choice but to limit my usage down since I can't afford to get throttle during gaming session.

While 512kbps is still better than celcom which drop to 64kbps, they could've just limit the usage to 2mbps at least. What can we do with 512kbps anyway, this is not dial-up era anymore
*
AFAIK, many games aren't affected, like LOL, PUBG. Downloading files are capped to 20mbps.

Video streaming sites, like Facebook, YouTube, Netflix, are throttled to 512kbps. Google Play Store download/update is throttled too. But strangely, iOS App Store and Windows 10 store don't get throttled.

Is Twitch and Discord are affected too by any chance?
*
my data is on a new cycle now, I can't check and so I'm not sure.
Steam games download/update would be capped at 20mbps.
I'm still on finding whats are heavily throttled too.

Internet being throttled to 30mbps/512kbps?

Tested Speedtest, Youtube and Netflix

Kinda shocked at this but this is norm I guess... sad.gif

You've reached 300GB usage, that's why your speed is getting throttled.
Everything is capped to 20mbps, and all video streaming websites are getting throttled to 512kbps.
Fast.com speed test is provided by Netflix IINM, and so the speed should be 500kbps whereas other speedtest should be 20-30mbps.

Guys this 300gb throttle apply to WiFi go and also maxis fibre + Postpaid plan ?
*
Yes for MaxisONE Wifi Go, it'll get throttled after 300GB usage.
For Maxis fiber + Postpaid plan (unlimited). the Maxis fiber is truly unlimited, whereas the mobile postpaid unlimited will be throttled after 300GB usage.

QUOTE(tru.shyne @ Sep 1 2020, 04:41 PM)
so my area does not have unifi... found out maxis line is the strongest and fastest. been using hotlink prepaid, like is quite stable compare to others
is this Maxis One Go Wifi good for home usage?
devices i use would be smart home devices like cctv, tv box, iPad
*
It's not suitable for TV box since video streaming will be heavily throttled to 512kbps after 300gb usage.

QUOTE(NinjaGaiden @ Sep 1 2020, 04:46 PM)
It is throttled for streaming or all usage?
*
Sorry, my area doesn't have fiber. So, not so sure for fiber + mobile postpaid unlimited. But, my sister is using at Johor, so I'm not able to check.

For MaxisONE Go Wifi, AFAIK after 300gb consumption, all video streaming like YouTube, Facebook, Netflix, and Google Play Store download/upload will be heavily throttled to 1mbps/512kbps.
Download at filehippo, steam games, and gaming like LOL, PUBG are capped speed to 20mbps.
Mind you, gaming on 4G network is highly location dependant.

QUOTE(zelltan8 @ Sep 4 2020, 05:20 PM)
hi all....would like to ask some questions.

1) is the RM108 for existing postpaid customers valid only for 12 months? Or until I cancel the service?
2) Is the Tenda 4G 680 router suitable for this Maxis One Go?

Thanks a lot.
*
1) RM108 for existing or new postpaid user, and revert back to normal RM138 after 12 months.
2) Yes, Tenda 4G680 router can run Maxis network. However, it's a 4G only router, and not recommended if your location could support 4G+ network.

To me, I rather take the RM1 ZTE MF283v router from Maxis than getting Tenda 4G680. Although the downside is 12 months contract, the performance of these two routers should be more or less the same.

Guys, want to ask this plan simcard can put at phone to use? i planing get this plan without modem. thank you
*
Yes, you can use this plan on mobile phone, but it can't make any voice call. If you intend to use it as hotspot for a long time, then it's not recommended as the phone will get very hot or the battery may get swollen.

QUOTE(yellowcar @ Sep 10 2020, 12:28 PM)
Hi can anyone suggest any good router preferably below RM500 or anything good at all. Thanks
*
Huawei B525 might be the cheapest option for a 4G+ router, although the warranty is quite short.
https://shopee.com.my/Huawei-B525-B525s-65a...3273.7746384355

or the TP Link MR600 4G+ router with 3 years local manufacturer warranty.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/tp-link-...6.html?search=1

If you have no intention to get 4G+ router, then I may suggest you take the RM1 ZTE modem from Maxis, although the downside is a 12 months contract.

300bg quota is confirmed. Everything is throttle after that. Gonna make a complaint to MCMC.

This 300gb is a joke. Easily breached within 20 days if you stream alot hd videos.
*
Did you complain to MCMC? Any news of it.
I hope it would increase to 500gb or 600gb monthly. However, it's still not enough for heavy video streaming even if 600gb.

Thinking to subscribe this to replace my streamyx and reduce my mobile phone data plan with Digi (currently using Digi Postpaid 90). But seems like 300GB is not enough to use and after that FB Youtube will be throttled. Do you guys recommend me to switchover?
*
FB and YouTube is getting throttled at 1.5mbps at night time even if you haven't reached 300GB, and only 512kbbps all day after 300GB.
If you're a heavy user, it's not recommended for you.
Have you checked Digi infinite 150?

QUOTE(tru.shyne @ Sep 21 2020, 11:58 AM)
worth to take the Home Router RM1 with 12-months contract?
I already have one huawei b310 router
*
If you really gonna use it for 12months, it's RM1 only, take it.
Otherwise, it's not worth since it's just a 4G only router.

I see. Then definitely the Digi i150 is better lol. I just have to work out the cost and see if it is worth upgrading from my current Digi Postpaid 90 with 60gb. Was thinking to use a yoodo plan RM30 + RM108 maxis wifi plan = RM138. The current 60gb plan I have is sufficient to last me a month by tethering to my PC but I am conservative in downloading stuffs hahaha. Your nighthawk M1 router seems expensive  hmm.gif
*
It's RM138 excluding SST for MaxisONE Go Wifi for non-Maxis postpaid user.
Only Maxis postpaid users get RM30 rebate for 12 months, and after that it'll revert back to RM138.
Comparing to Digi infinite 150 which gives 1000GB quotas for RM150 excluding SST. It's much better provided your location has a good connection.

Guys,

This maxisOne Go Home wifi will be sharing the same network as our maxisone mobile package? My hometown is quite rural area but maxis mobile broadband coverage is pretty good and fast. I worry if I subscribe to this, it is not as the mobile broadband. Any idea?
*
If you phone could get a good connection on Maxis network at your location, then this MaxisOne Go Wifi will be 99.9% the same as your postpaid/prepaid plan. Furthermore, 4G CPE router tends to have better connection than any phone does. The only issue is whether or not 300GB quotas enough for your monthly usage.
I may suggest you take the SIM only since there's no contract. You are allowed to purchase the 4G router for RM1 later but it'll tie you to a 12-month contract.

if i use the modem that i put my Digi infinite 150 in for the maxis wifi go, it should works also right?

Digi and Maxis both use LTE band 3 and 7. So, if the modem works on Digi, then it'll also works on Maxis.

MaxisONE Go Wifi has got a lot of improvement. Today is my last day of my billing cycle and my consumption for this month has already passed 500GB.
YouTube and Play Store don't get throttled anymore.

Maybe, someone else could check it too, and hope it's not my "imagination".

The peak time 8-12 still throttle though
*
My previous post screenshots were at 8.54pm night time. I had consumed over 300GB, yet I were still getting high speed for YouTube or Play Store. It's normally throttled to only 512kbps after 300GB usage.

Now, I'm on a new cycle, and testing done at 8.20pm night time for YouTube and Netflix (free). Another thing is that, YouTube normally won't changed to 1080p on auto previously.

I hope someone else could confirm that Maxis has done some amendment to MaxisONE Go Wifi as well as Maxis mobile plans.
Despite that, I might be terminating this plan soon because my home finally has fiber internet although TM is still in installation progress.

Dear all, first thanks for all the information. Is there any modem that serve the same that come with battery? This is because, am travelling extensive and I can bring this modem anywhere for broadband needs including overseas. Thanks
*
Netgear Nighthawk M1 should perform far better than any phone, but it'll cost you a bomb. It's a 4x4 MiMO and 4G+ MiFi. IIRC, I read someone said the battery can be taken out to prevent swollen if you wish to use it at home plugged in 24/7.
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/netgear-...5.html?search=1

Otherwise, Huawei e5573 could be an alternative cheaper choice. It's a 4G only MiFi.

Hey guys, does upgrading router will give me better and stable connection? Currently using the Maxis router Huawei B315.

Using Maxis WiFi 138 from 2018 and getting 70-80 Mbps but nowadays not stable connection and keep getting 3G and only getting 10Mbs lol.

Any suggestion?
*
Huawei B315 is a 4G only router. Upgrade it to 4G+ may improve your internet speed if your location has good 4G+ coverage. However, if your location is congested, whatever router you use will be 99% the same.

Not sure who else is experiencing this problem.

Am using Huawei B818 and keep getting this error and my connection would be cut off, having to restart to fix it. Had to restart about 10 times per day.

The IP address seems to be Maxis's DNS

You may try disable the TR06, IIRC, in the router webpage.

MaxisONE Go WiFi  is  surely improving.

I have used 600 GB currently and I can still get 75 Mbps download speed. Looks like no more capping?

However for Tidal and Spotify still capped at 0.5 Mbps however I just use VPN to bypass that
*
Look like my previous post https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...post&p=98518103 was not my imagination. smile.gif
Nevertheless, I terminated this plan since fibre internet is better.

today my usage reached 300gb, everything is throttled to 512kbps. Can barely do anything online. I double confirmed with the staff before i register this plan and they say oh no speed throttle terms and conditions. Will visit them in the evening to "clarify" things smile.gif very pissed.
*
Are you sure it’s everything?

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Nov 7 2020, 04:57 PM)
I just bought a sim wanted to test out. The promoter said after 300GB only video will be throttled (which was shown in a leaflet too) But I didn't take a picture just now. Hmmm
*
Yes, previously all videos streaming sites were getting throttled to 512kbps after 300gb usage. Other things, it would be throttled at 20-30mbps. However, at the last month of my usage b4 termination, I have used around 600GB and the speed for YouTube and Netflix are quite fast - https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f...post&p=98518103

Not sure whether Maxis has re-amended this “Go WiFi” again.
