Gathering some recent rumors regarding next year's S21 series.

1. In order to save cost, no more Snapdragon chipset (SD875 is far more expensive compared to SD865). Using Exynos globally. However, GPU will be made by AMD.

2. S21 (lowest spec) will be using FHD+ 60hz screen.

Hi everyone,

I just bought S20 Exynos variant yesterday. The battery life is very bad, For example, this morning my battery drop around 20% after using 40 minutes (screen using 120hz). I had turn off all the unused settings to optimize battery life. But still get this result. Seek for yourguys advice
Yes. I have S20+, and I got the similar result. Only one solution, switch to 60hz screen. Then again, some people will say why the hell you bought S20 if you don't use 120hz screen? Well, that's the dillema. Want to enjoy 120hz, then prepare power bank all the time. I hate power bank more than anything. So no choice, I turned off the 120hz mode. Anyway, that's history now. I changed to S10 lite.

Sorry to say, S20 series 120hz screen is not mature enough. According to the leaks, it will get improved in Note 20 Ultra.

Out of curiosity, what did you use it for the 40 minutes? Games?
*
It's all about that 120hz screen bro. Not to mention that he is using S20, which the battery capacity is small. If you use S20 with 120hz mode in high brightness level, then you will definitely get the same result like him. And it get even worse since we are using exynos variant.

That's why Samsung decided to not to put 120hz mode in the upcoming regular Note 20. Because they know regular Note 20 can't handle it. Only the largest device Note 20 Ultra will implement the 120 hz mode.

I reckon that if we want to use Samsung phone in 120hz mode with full day battery life, the battery capacity must at least started from 5000mAh.

Yeah, the 120hz a factor, but to drain at a rate of 20% in less than an hour is still a lot. I'm currently using a 90hz refresh rate screen and I'm getting about an hour's SOT for 10% consumption on the average. I wonder if the battery drain from 90hz to 120hz is that significant?
*
Oh I forgot to mention one thing. The reason why Samsung 120hz mode drain battery faster compared to other phones like OnePlus , is because their screen do not implement dynamic resolution mode. Other phones such as OnePlus will automatically switch to 60hz when you are using app that are not supporting 90/120hz. On the other hand, Samsung run in 120hz mode all the time, no matter what type of apps you are using. That's the reason why Samsung drain faster.

And yes. Samsung realized this issue and they promised dynamic resolution mode will come in Note 20 Ultra. Sadly to say, they do not do the same thing to S20 series. Makes me wonder if this is hardware limitation.

Haha the prove that S will always be prototype while note is polished version of the phone

Oh that opinion could start a war my friend. Some said Note is better because it's polished right after the S. Some said S is better because new thing start with S. It's a never ending argument. LOL. biggrin.gif

If this is true, that means Samsung indirectly admit that S20's Exynos chip is inferior. So we the users are being fooled. I am speechless...............

Ranting from an unsatisfied S20 user.

I am afraid not so soon. Rumors said Samsung is using a strange tactic now. Next year S21 series, only the top spec ultra will use the best amd chip. While the other 2 low specs will be using improved version of exynos 990. In other words, you want the best chip performance, go buy the most expensive one. The other specs will be watered down a lot.

They already start doing this in Note 20 series. If this is going to be a new trend, then Samsung is digging its own grave. As a Samsung fag, I can't believe I would say this. But it is as it is.

S20 FE. Please let it be the one with the SD here smile.gif

Dont think that's gonna happen bro. Samsung is not a charitable organization. If they produce a new product in 2 different chip, then they sure wont waste it. You know I know lah.

One UI 2.5 already rolled out. SME set should be receiving the update very soon.

Meanwhile, here's another interesting news.

https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-s21-s...xy-note-series/

Original leaks came from Korea.

Most likely it's true. However, I don't think Samsung will ditch Note series altogether.

Anyway, one thing for sure, S21 Ultra with S-Pen will be VERY VERY expensive.

Thanks. I thought all this while Samsung do have the dex lol... Coz last time been using Easy Projection of Huawei p20 on any smart TV very cool lol.
*
Samsung flagships since Note 9 do have the dex function all this while. However, it needs a dex adapter to work. Last year Note 10 was improved. The dex will work through a simple cable. But still troublesome. Not to mention that we need to fork out some money to buy those extra accessories. Hence not everyone fancy this "expensive" feature .

And finally this year, they improved a lot by making it totally wireless. That's why all users are happy because finally we can use and utilize this great feature without any extra cost.

Hey guys. Whoever updated the one ui 2.5, please check your battery saving management. Somehow all my apps are automatically kept in the list in "never sleep" feature. Not sure it's my issue or not. Just make sure you check that out after updating.

Perhaps I will consider it if trade in is available. tongue.gif

Read some news. And I think this is worth to mention.

S20fe supports 25W fast charging. However, the phone will only come with 15W charger. You will have to buy another charger if you want to achieve 25W fast charging.

Really kamsiap la Samsung.

Of course fully charge is not that much of difference. But we are talking about short time charging. For example, start from 0%, the initial first half hour charging, 25W is much much faster compared to 15W.

In short, the faster the better especially when you are in emergency.

Hahaha they wanna cut cost
But then I no idea why they sell S20 FE in Malaysia so expensive sweat.gif
Better grab a SD variant of S20+ much better laugh.gif
*
It's all because of that SD chip. Same thing happened to S10 lite. Its spec is quite similar to Note 10 lite (except for the different chip) which was also released at the same time. And Samsung charged us : S10 lite - RM 2699 , Nite 10 lite - RM2299

The SD chip itself worth for extra RM400. So now you know why S20fe is so expensive in here. tongue.gif
