lets say is abc.thm
then u have to change the .thm file name to abc.thm
*
You made it upside down. It should be use notepad to check the .thm.. lol.
Anyway I updated the guide on pg.25, easier to understand now.

Added on just now tongue.gif

PART 1 - Preparing files needed.
  1. Download XS++ v1.6.8 from:-
  2. Extract the XS++ to a new folder. Inside the new folder, create a few path. See screenshot below for more information.
    user posted image
  3. Download a Flash Menu/Theme from:-
  4. Put the flash menu files (.swf) into the folder you created just now, refer to screenshot above.

PART 2 (Version 1 - Making the .thm file uses the flash menu(the .swf file)
  1. Download myThemeCreator from:-
  2. Open the theme that you want to use flash menu.
    • Example: Everchanging theme using everchanging flash menu
  3. On the circled part (see screenshot below), change it to yourflashmenuname.swf
    • Example: Everchanging.swf. NOTE: The file name is caps sensitive.
    user posted image

OR

PART 2 (Version 2 - Renaming your .swf file to the flash menu used by the theme)
  1. Right click on the .thm file, open with Notepad
  2. Ignore everything, use find function(Ctrl+F) and find the line below
    CODE
    <Desktop_style Type="File" Source="xxxx.swf"/>
  3. Rename your .swf file to the same as shown in that line.
      WARNING: You cannot edit anything in the notepad or the .thm will crash

PART 3 - Time to upload the stuff to the phone, eh?
  1. Open the program 'XS++'
  2. Connect your phone to XS++. To connect your phone to XS++, you have to..
    1. Turn off your phone
    2. Click 'Connect' on XS++
    3. Hold 'C' on your phone and connect your phone to the PC with the data cable
    4. If your phone gets detected by XS++ (See screenshot below), skip to step 4. Else continue with the step below.
      user posted image
  3. Only follow this step if your phone doesn't get detected by XS++ and you get "Found new hardware" pop up instead.
    1. Insert your PC Suit CD and don't do anything. Just leave the CD inside.
    2. Hold 'C' on your phone and connect your phone to the PC. Wait for the 'Found new hardware' to pop up
    3. When it pop ups, click on it and it will ask you whether to allow Microsoft Windows to search for the driver or not. Choose 'recommended' option. (It will automatically find the driver from your CD)
    4. Let the windows find the driver and soon it'll install it. This might take a few minutes. After successfully installing USB DRIVER(I'm not sure what name is it.), proceed with next step.
  4. Tick 'Customize file system' (See screenshot below)
      Just ignore the pop-up and proceed to next step
    user posted image
  5. Click on 'Settings' and choose 'BreakXS' (See screenshot below)
    user posted image
  6. Click on 'FSX' tab and press 'Start FSX' (See screenshot below)
    user posted image

Wait for the XS++ to upload the files to your phone. When it's done, simply change the theme and you will get the Flash Menu (If you followed the steps correctly). Else, check and see which part you missed or you can ask at the thread.

In the flash menu link File->Flash Themes, i mostly saw a preview .jpg file & a .swf file. Open which theme? There are no .thm file inside.

Also where to get the Lasyk theme? It looks cool.

You have to find .thm files manually yourself. That link is to get the Flash Menu only. But sometimes it contain .thm file as well.

The theme that I used in the sample picture is 'Autumn' from Zedge.

Actually what is the difference between themes (.thm) and flash (.swf)? Is it themes are like wallpaper and the flash are the one generating the menu?
In the zedge website, can all the themes be used interchangeably? Eg. you can use K600 theme for W610?

Thanks notworthy.gif

I have changed the .thm file using myThemeCreator on the desktop style: Everchanging4.swf before dragging to the phone. Does the .thm filename need to be same as the .swf file?

yes the .thm name must be the same as the .swf

is best if u find a theme that have .thm file inside with the .swf and .jpg
so u dont have to edit,

example, lava theme,inside have the .thm, .swf and jpg. so its easy,

then the .swf file u must either ''save target as''(right click) then save in the 'flash' file in the files_to_upload
then after u flash every thing, then restart ur phone, then plug in the usb cable again to drag in the .thm file in ur theme file

Added on September 3, 2007, 6:41 pmremember the name even the capital latter also must be the same
is best if u just copy and paste

did u check the notepad?? u need to check the file name in there also.
and 1 more thing , did u type the file name correctly,

XS++\files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash

all latters must be there even the underscore (cannot spell wrongly)

if every thing is correct and u still got nothing meaning the .thm and .swf file is not compatible

try using other theme like lava.

The .thm file name doesn't really necessary to be same with the .swf file name.

No, there is nothing such as 'thm doesnt compatible with the .swf'. I even used Cybershot theme with gSharp's flash menu. lol.

I downloaded the postal_4 game theme from zedge. It's a w610i theme.

1. I renamed the theme name to Everchanging4.thm as someone mentioned need same name.
2. I used mTC and changed the Desktop Style to Everchanging4.swf
3. I opened the notepad and search. It's written there Desktop_style Type="File" Source="Everchanging4.swf"
4. I double checked the file path: XS++\files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash
5. Inside i only put 1 file: Everchanging4.swf
6. I flashed and successful.
7. Unplugged my phone and reconnected and transfered the Everchanging4.thm file to Phone Card->Theme folder.
8. Powered off and on. Changed theme to Everchanging4 theme.

Only the theme changed but flash menu is same as last time sweat.gif
