Hmm weird.. I've successfully changed the Flash Menu (As shown in XS++) but then when I start up my phone, nothing changes. Weird.. hmm.gifrclxub.gif

Everchanging4.swf

Follow the steps below:-

But when I start up my phone, there is no flash menu installed of what-i-want. Is it the flash corrupted or I missed out something?

*.swf is basically teh animated menu. u need to plant it inside the phone. and *.thm is some sort of code or whatever, that tell the phone to use the *.swf instead of default 4x3 grid menu. and that explains why last time when we put the *.thm into our phone, the flash menu wont come out. it is simply not there. the associated *.swf was not there.

so when we use XS++, in basic terms, we actually plant the *.swf inside the phone. and then we use the associated *.thm to direct the phone to use the flash menu.

Tried, still not working.. somehow.. ._.

I've uploaded the theme into my Memory card, same name as the .swf (Everchanging.thm).
I've uploaded the flash file with XS++ 1.6.8 to /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash/Everchanging.swf

Is there anything that I missed, still? sad.gif

I think I get it, the Everchanging.thm DOESN'T associate the Flash Menu, in other words, the theme does not point to the Flash Menu (even if it's installed/not installed)..

So how I can edit the theme so that it does point at the flash menu?

1) Switch off your phone
2) Click Connect
3) Hold "C" and connect your phone (You can plug in the USB port first, remaining the port where you nid to plug in your phone)

PART 1 - Preparing files needed.
  1. Download XS++ v1.6.8 from:-
  2. Extract the XS++ to a new folder. Inside the new folder, create a few path. See screenshot below for more information.

    To anyone that might repeat this mistake again. The files_to_upload folder must be same with XS++.exe. Do not repeat same mistake as Archaven. laugh.gif
  3. Download a Flash Menu/Theme from:-
  4. Put the flash menu files (.swf) into the folder you created just now, refer to screenshot above.

PART 2 (Version 1 - Making the .thm file uses the flash menu(the .swf file)
  1. Download myThemeCreator from:-
  2. Open the theme that you want to use flash menu.
    • Example: Everchanging theme using everchanging flash menu
  3. On the circled part (see screenshot below), change it to yourflashmenuname.swf
    • Example: Everchanging.swf. NOTE: The file name is caps sensitive.

PART 2 (Version 2 - Renaming your .swf file to the flash menu used by the theme)
  1. Right click on the .thm file, open with Notepad
  2. Ignore everything, use find function(Ctrl+F) and find the line below
    CODE
    <Desktop_style Type="File" Source="xxxx.swf"/>
  3. Rename your .swf file to the same as shown in that line.
      WARNING: You cannot edit anything in the notepad or the .thm will crash
PART 3 - Time to upload the stuff to the phone, eh?
  1. Open the program 'XS++'
  2. Connect your phone to XS++. To connect your phone to XS++, you have to..
    1. Turn off your phone
    2. Click 'Connect' on XS++
    3. Hold 'C' on your phone and connect your phone to the PC with the data cable
    4. If your phone gets detected by XS++ (See screenshot below), skip to step 4. Else continue with the step below.

  3. Only follow this step if your phone doesn't get detected by XS++ and you get "Found new hardware" pop up instead.(If anyone could provide me screenshot for this section, please kindly do so. I need it, tongue.gif)
    1. Insert your PC Suit CD and don't do anything. Just leave the CD inside.
    2. Hold 'C' on your phone and connect your phone to the PC. Wait for the 'Found new hardware' to pop up
    3. When it pop ups, click on it and it will ask you whether to allow Microsoft Windows to search for the driver or not. Choose 'recommended' option. (It will automatically find the driver from your CD)
    4. Let the windows find the driver and soon it'll install it. This might take a few minutes. After successfully installing USB DRIVER(I'm not sure what name is it.), proceed with next step.
  4. Tick 'Customize file system' (See screenshot below)
      Just ignore the pop-up and proceed to next step

Wait for the XS++ to upload the files to your phone. When it's done, simply change the theme and you will get the Flash Menu (If you followed the steps correctly). Else, check and see which part you missed or you can ask at the thread.

hmm weird. Are you on Windows XP or Windows Vista? Windows should detected new hardware when you hold "C" and connect your phone to your PC.
When your PC detected new hardware, it'll ask you whether do you allow Windows to search the installer and install. (Consist of 3 choices on XP. 'Yes, this time only', 'Yes, everytime I connected to a device', 'Not at this time')

Choose "Yes, this time only" and wait for it to search the disc (I assume you've inserted your disc)

That's what I face last time. But there should be a 'Found new hardware'. If you can browse your phone memory/ M2 even tho you shut down your phone, hold "C" and connect to PC. That means you haven't installed the USB xxxxx from the disc yet. Try ti uninstall PC Suite, plug in phone. If you get "found new hardware" means it's working. Else I can't think of what's the possible cause.

Weird.. this is what happen for me before I installed the USB xxxx thing (dono wat it called) from PC Suit disc.

1) When I hold "C" and plug my phone to the PC, new hardware detected. connect failed (XS++ to the phone)
2) it'll become like removeable disk, phone memory & mem card memory detected and I can copy files
3) I repeat step 1, but this time insert PC suit disc, when the new hardware detected pops out, I choose to let windows find the installation file
4) after few min, the USB XXX is successfully installed.

then when i hold "C" and connect to XS++, successful. No longer detect phone memory/mem card (when holding C and plug in)

Anyone had this weird problem? Let's say. As I'm using TTPlayer to listen song, they contain built-in-mp3-tag-editor. Most of my song are well edited.
So I take this song as an example
Song: CHE.R.RY
Artist: Yui
Album: My Generation/Understand

But it shows as..
Song: ChE.R.
Artiest: Yu
Album: My Generation/Understan

and this song..
Song: 杀手
Artist: 林俊杰
Album: 西界

It shows as..
Song: 杀
Artist: 林俊
Album: 西

It happens on some song (randomly). Anyone have the same problem as well?
