American companies are always about monopoly. Be it Microsoft, Qualcomm or Google. However when others are monopolying like Huawei with its 5G, you can see how they behaved.

Chinese phone manufacturers is flocking to Mediatek (Dimensity 820) and HiSilicon (Kirin 820) for their mid range SoC. They are way faster compared to Snapdragon 765G. Lets see how they gave Qualcomm a run for their money.

I think most Malaysian offices for foreign brands are crap. How many years did it takes for Samsung to even reached what it is now. Asus is crap too.

I think I can say my experience differs from yours. Most of the taiwanese pc hardware that I bought has great after sales support, whereas those american brands has really poor support taking months for simple RMA. Yeah, they do replaced it in the end but not after being sent in for months. Apple sent back the same iPad with backlight bleeding after weeks. Mushkin merely gave a RM140 credit for a failed SSD after months.

Depends on you. I have seen Google trying to duplicate Samsung Dex or EMUI desktop but I must said, Samsung did it the best.

I think many are playing the waiting game. I placed an unpaid order and decide in the morning if I want to get it. Mi 10 cost a bit more but came with stereo speaker and 2 years warranty inclusive of 1 year screen crack.

This is the only phone with flagship soc under 2K. The only other choice is X3 Superzoom. I ruled out 7T because I saw many ppl complain about touch response on 7T and I do played games on my phone about daily.

At first thought want to buy mid range phone from China but after converting and shipping, just 400-500 short unless you get the base model. This seem like a better deal. I wanted to wait for Samsung RDNA2 but I don't feel like paying 3k++ for yet another phone. Might as well use this until S21 or S30 used drop below 2k level 2 years from now.

If you are ex-Apple user, then you are going to need bigger storage as you kept restoring your phone. Personally I see my usage remained the same over the years. Hardly took any videos, just some pictures here and there. 64GB should be enough for most people provided they dont download GBs of games/movies.

Not really. RAM doesn't affect the speed as much as they thought. The real bottleneck of a phone will be the slowest part which is the storage. If one feels the need to go 8GB, it's up to them but I don't think you really need 8GB of RAM to achieve anything in smartphone except when taking high resolution videos like 8K whereby the storage writing speed might not keep up.

If one got friend in China, then yeah, buy from Xiaomi Official page on Taobao will get 8DDR5+256GB for RMB2999 which translate into less than RM2K. However since it's an amoled screen, better play it safe and ask someone to buy so can check the screen first. If sent over and got problem, how to claim warranty???

I think they could sell any phone with Snapdragon 865 as long as it's 2K +/- 10%. There is nothing close to it right now. The only thing missing is high refresh rate display.

If anything, I think the 256gb is the one really hard to sell. Why? Average camera, why would you need 256GB? At 2599, top up 200, you'll get Mi10 with stereo speaker, 108MP, 2 years warranty with screen crack protection. I think they will drop the 256GB to 2399 to counter X2 Pro.

Not to mention 90Hz refresh rate on Mi10.

Why would they priced it so high is beyond me. RM400 more for just 128gb + 2gb + lpddr5? I don't think the calculation make any sense. If they had added 90hz screen then it could another story.
